Book excerpt: Dans le cadre d'une économie caractérisée non seulement par l'inflation, mais aussi par l'incertitude de l'avenir, nous nous sommes interrogés sur la validité économique de l'évaluation comptable des actifs. Pour ce faire, nous avons procédé a une simulation nous permettant de tester la signification économique d'une information comptable précise (le taux de rendement comptable), en se basant sur un modèle d'équilibre général (développé dans le cadre de cette thèse) qui tient compte, à la fois, du temps, de la variation du niveau général des prix et de l'incertitude. Les résultats trouvés montrent que les comptabilités dites d'inflation sont impertinentes puisqu'elles considèrent implicitement, que la seule variable explicative de l'évolution de l'économie est représentée par la variation des prix ; ce qui est bien contestable dans un univers d'incertitude. Alors que la comptabilité en couts historiques peut être utilisée comme un système d'information judicieux, à condition que les plans d'amortissement soient corrigés selon la réalisation des états de la nature. Pour ce faire, une notion théorique d'amortissement contingent est proposée et qui peut être pratiquée par les entreprises sous la forme d'un amortissement dérogatoire.

Volumes were not produced for Colloquia held at Tarragona, Spain in October 1970 under the title 'Monetary Policy and New Developments in Banking' and at Strasbourg, France in January 1972 under the title 'Aspects of European Monetary Union'.
