Les composantes du travail social, auprès de personnalité en difficulté grave, se lient dans un abord global des situations, s'appuyant sur les notions de contact relationnel, de processus et de responsabilité. La découverte la plus notable dans ce domaine est que l'intervenant lui-même s'implique de façon telle qu'il est amené à satisfaire aussi à ses propres besoins de croissance personnelle. Cet aspect interactionnel, bien conceptualisé par la théorie écosystémique de Gregory Bateson et décrit dans les termes de la théorie moderne de la communication, tisse des liens étroits, en effet, entre d'une part l'individu, sa famille, son réseau et, d'autre part, la personne de l'intervenant. Ceci est exposé dans cet ouvrage sur un mode à la fois théorique et clinique. Les cas présentés au fil des chapitres dénotent clairement les éléments familiaux et de réseau social toujours impliqués dans une crise personnelle. Certains travailleurs sociaux s'engagent dans des actions radicales sous la forme d'un militantisme contestataire vis-à-vis des injustices contemporaines. De telles actions doivent garder une souplesse suffisante pour que l'intervenant reste intégré à son champ d'action professionnel. Prenant ainsi en considération les facteurs individuels, interactionnels et environnementaux, tant du côté des clients que de l'intervenant, ces nouvelles pratiques donnent à ce dernier des fonctions multiples : thérapeute individuel et thérapeute des interactions familiales et de réseau ; mandataire et négociateur ; enfin organisateur pour la recherche et la création des ressources de l'individu en crise sociale. Ceci implique également un effort de coordination entre les diverses institutions concernées.

Des phénomènes tels que l’allongement de la durée de la vie, l’urbanisation des populations, la difficulté d’entrée sur le marché du travail ou encore l’éclatement des modèles familiaux traditionnels marquent notre monde contemporain et impliquent la disparition d’anciennes solidarités et l’apparition de nouvelles solidarités redessinant les relations entre générations, posant alors le problème du sort des personnes les plus fragiles : les enfants, les malades, les handicapés et, surtout, les personnes âgées. – Quel est alors le rôle de la famille et des collectivités dans la protection de ces personnes ? – Quels rapports entre solidarités publiques et solidarités privées ? – Quels sont les droits et libertés reconnus aux personnes que l’âge, la maladie ou le handicap, placent en situation de dépendances ? Telles sont les questions au cœur de cet ouvrage. The importance of the human, economic and social issues caused by the question of generations’ solidarities led the International Society of Family Law to choose this theme for its XVIth World Congress (Lyon, July 19-23rd 2011). More than 200 speakers from 50 countries studied these questions from the legal angle, but also philosophic, economic and anthropological. This work collects a part of these papers about two great issues: the child, as the center of family solidarities; and the support for elders by family. Phenomena such as increasing life expectancy, population urbanization, labor-market entry barriers, decline of traditional family patterns, mark in depth our contemporary world and involve old solidarity disappearance and new solidarity emergence, reshaping relations between generations while bringing up the problem of the fate of the most vulnerable: children, the sick, disabled, and especially elderly people. – What then is the role of families and communities in protecting these people? – What is the relationship between public and private solidarity? – What are the rights and freedoms of people placed by age, illness or disability in a dependence situation? These are the issues addressed by the authors of this book.

The essays made readily accessible in this collection reflect the author's many-sided interests in the troubadours and the society from which they sprang: the historical and cultural place of the women forming the ostensible objects of their desire, veneration, or anxieties; the extent to which French notions of chivalry penetrated the South; the nature and meaning of various elements of court culture; the precocious development of medical science in this region; its complex responses to the Crusades; and the question of Occitan identity. Mostly complementing her major publications (The World of the Troubadours, collaborative editions of the songs of the troubadour Marcabru, of the epic fragment the Canso d'Antioca, and of the medieval Occitan tensos and partimens), they provide either more detailed material than found its way into those works, or developments from them. Cette Internationale noire dépendait directement du Vatican. Analysant l'histoire de la naissance, du fonctionnement et de la dissolution de cette organisation secrète, le présent ouvrage ressemble quelquefois à un roman policier. Il accorde également une grande attention à l'influence exercée par ce réseau sur la politique de presse et sur la politique internationale du Vatican. Enfin, il évalue son impact sur le développement du catholicisme militant puis, à travers son prolongement dans l'Union de Fribourg (1884-1891), sur la percée du catholicisme social en Europe.
