Book L identit au miroir du tourisme

Download or read book L identit au miroir du tourisme written by Saskia Cousin and published by . This book was released on 2003 with total page 529 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Order and Compromise Government Practices in Turkey from the Late Ottoman Empire to the Early 21st Century

Download or read book Order and Compromise Government Practices in Turkey from the Late Ottoman Empire to the Early 21st Century written by and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2015-02-17 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Order and Compromise questions the historicity of government practices in Turkey from the late Ottoman Empire up to the present day. It explores how institutions at work are being framed by constant interactions with non-institutional characters from various social realms. This volume thus approaches the state-society continuum as a complex and shifting system of positions. Inasmuch as they order and ordain, state authorities leave room for compromise, something which has hitherto been little studied in concrete terms. By combining in-depth case studies with an interdisciplinary conceptual framework, this collection helps apprehend the morphology and dynamics of public action and state-society relations in Turkey. Contributors are: Marc Aymes, Olivier Bouquet, Nicolas Camelio, Nathalie Clayer, Anouck Gabriela Corte-Real Pinto, Berna Ekal, Benoît Fliche, Muriel Girard, Benjamin Gourisse, Sümbül Kaya, Noémi Lévy Aksu, Élise Massicard, Jean-François Pérouse, Clémence Scalbert Yücel, Emmanuel Szurek and Claire Visier.

Book L identit au coeur du voyage

Download or read book L identit au coeur du voyage written by Jean-Marie Furt and published by Tourismes et sociétés. This book was released on 2007-03-12 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Tourismes patrimoines identit s territoires

Download or read book Tourismes patrimoines identit s territoires written by Collectif and published by Presses universitaires de Perpignan. This book was released on 2021-01-15 with total page 621 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Multilingualism and the Periphery

Download or read book Multilingualism and the Periphery written by Sari Pietikainen and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2013-01-16 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multilingualism and the Periphery is an edited volume that explores the ways in which core-periphery dynamics shape multilingualism. The research focuses on peripheral sites, which are defined by a relationship-be it geographic, political, economic etc.-to some perceived centre. Viewing multilingualism through the lens of core-periphery dynamics allows the contributors to highlight language ideological tensions with regard to language boundary-making, language ownership, commodification and authenticity, as well as the ways in which speakers seek novel solutions in adapting their linguistic resources to new situations and thereby develop innovative language practices. Since the core-periphery relationship is never fixed, but instead constantly renegotiated and mutually constitutive, the essays in the volume are particularly concerned with processes of peripheralization and of centralization. The volume includes ten essays by leading scholars in the field, and introductory and concluding remarks by the volume editors.

Book excerpt: "Exploring different dimensions of the intersection of migration and tourism in the Mediterranean, this book is the result of extensive ethnographic research carried out over a decade in the Mediterranean region. It focuses on three main themes: the impact of migrants visiting their country of origin for holidays, called roots tourism; the dynamics of the "border encounters" between local people, tourists and migrants; and how tourism has affected the cultural diversity in urban areas. The book shows how migration and tourism play complementary roles in boosting the global dynamics of cultural, social, economic and political transformation in the Mediterranean"--

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Winner of the 1999 Laurence Wylie Prize in French Cultural Studies presented by the Association for French Cultural Studies The 1937 Paris World's Fair presented a traditionalist image of France as a rural, provincial country, faithful to its folk traditions and to its Old World heritage. France's attachment, well into the twentieth century, to its traditionalist roots has often been interpreted by scholars as a reactionary impulse, a desire to resist modernization or a wish to return to the past. However, in this book Peer argues that this enduring attachment in Third Republic France to peasants, provincials, and folklore was not inherently reactionary or anti-modernist. Instead, these aspects of France's "traditional" heritage were refashioned in new ways to allow France to modernize while still retaining its distinctive identity.
