La perte osseuse alvéolaire associée à une maladie parodontale destructrice engendre fréquemment des défauts osseux qui peuvent considérablement compliquer la mise en place et le pronostic des implants.Cependant, il est aujourd'hui possible de prendre en charge ces défauts de façon non chirurgicale par l'égression orthodontique des dents parodontalement compromises pour faciliter l'aménagement d'un futur site implantaire dans une zone où le volume osseux est inapproprié. Cette technique vise à exploiter la présence des dents "irrécupérables " dans le sens d'une modification de leur environnement local défectueux améliorant ainsi les conditions et la fiabilité d'une mise en place d'implants dans ces sites .Cette thèse se propose d'étudier les techniques et modalités de l'égression orthodontique, la réaction du parodonte lors de cette égression, les impératifs implantaires liés au site anatomique, l'aménagement du site implantaire ainsi que les indications, les contre- indications, les avantages et les inconvénients de l'égression orthodontique pré-implantaire.
