Download or read book La traite humaine caract re sexuel et les associations abolitionnistes en France written by Laura Romagnoli and published by Editions L'Harmattan. This book was released on 2010 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Organizing for Sex Workers Rights in Montr al

Download or read book Organizing for Sex Workers Rights in Montr al written by Francine Tremblay and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2020-02-13 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is based on a case study about Stella, l’amie de Maimie a Montréal sex workers' rights organization, founded by and for sex workers. It explores how a group of ostracized female-identified sex workers transformed themselves into a collective to promote the health and well-being of women working in the sex industry. Weighed down by the old and tenacious whore symbol, the sex workers at Stella had to find a way to navigate the criminality of sex work and sex workers, in order to do advocacy and support work, and create safer spaces for sex workers to engage in such advocacy. This book focuses on sex workers, but the advocacy challenges and strategies it outlines can also apply to the lives of other marginalized groups who are often ignored, pitied, or reviled, but who are seldom seen as fully human.

Book Protecting children from sexual violence

Download or read book Protecting children from sexual violence written by Council of Europe and published by Council of Europe. This book was released on 2011-04-05 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Protecting children from sexual violence - A comprehensive approach is a collection of highly readable expert papers for both child professionals and the general public. It is divided into five parts, presenting a European overview and covering the existing legal frameworks; abuse prevention and reporting; rehabilitation and social reintegration of victims; sexual violence on the Internet; and public and private partnerships against abuse. It also sheds light on the little-known problem of children who are sexually abusing other children. In addition to providing thorough information on the many facets of this complex subject, this publication also highlights new concepts, facts and recommendations. Foremost is the significant lack of data on the prevalence and nature of sexual violence in Europe, underscoring the need for co-ordinated pan-European research and information gathering, which are vital to effective policy making and programme design. It also sounds the alarm for urgent co-ordinated action in various fields to drastically improve child protection through awareness raising; targeted and specialised training, intervention and therapy programmes; sex education in schools; responsible family attitudes; and justice systems with tighter abuse laws and which take account of children's special needs as reliable witnesses.Protecting children from sexual violence is published as part of the Council of Europe campaign to stop sexual violence against children. The hope is that this publication will inspire judges, the police, educators, governments, the media and legislatures to join the campaign and expose, demythify and take concerted action to combat sexual violence against children, a phenomenon that affects as many as 20% of children in Europe.

Book Les prostitueurs

Download or read book Les prostitueurs written by Victor Malarek and published by MEditeur. This book was released on 2013-03 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Women Feminism and Femininity in the 21st Century

Download or read book Women Feminism and Femininity in the 21st Century written by B. Mousli and published by Springer. This book was released on 2009-05-11 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: American women look at French women as having it all: sex, motherhood, work, and public office, while French women look at American women as puritanical, excessively feminist, and unable to "have it all" without guilt. The essays in this book by leading American and French academics and critics set the record straight by assessing the truth of each outlook. They conclude that facts are different from imagination, and that on many issues, French feminists could actually look to the U.S. for inspiration. This book offers the first comparative critical appraisal of how women live in the US and in France and suggests paths of reflection on what women can do to improve their lives in the twenty-first century. This is a must read for anyone interested in the nature of womanhood today in the Western World.

Download or read book Inhabiting Memory in Canadian Literature Habiter la m moire dans la litt rature canadienne written by Benjamin Authers and published by University of Alberta. This book was released on 2017-11-30 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the cultural work of space and memory in Canada and Canadian literature, and encourages readers to investigate Canada within its regional, national, and global contexts. It features seven chapters in English and five in French, with a bilingual introduction. The contributors invite us to recognize local intersections that are so easily overlooked, yet are so important. They reveal the unities and fractures in national understanding, telling stories of otherness and marginality and of dislocation and un-belonging.
