LES EURO-MARCHES SATISFONT CET APPETIT. EN 1979-80, L'OPEP REAGIT A L'EPUISEMENT DE SES SURPLUS FINANCIERS. LES ETATS-UNIS ADOPTENT UNE POLITIQUE D'INSPIRATION MONETARISTE. LE SERVICE DE LA DETTE S'ALOURDIT. A PARTIR DE 1982, L'APPROVISIONNEMENT DU TIERS-MONDE EN LIQUIDITES SE RESTREINT. LES DEFAILLANCES DES DEBITEURS SONT SI NOMBREUSES QUE LA SIMPLE MODIFICATION DES CONTRATS DE PRET NE SUFFIT PLUS. LA REGULATION INTENTIONNELLE SURVIENT, -BASEE SUR DES POLITIQUES D'AJUSTEMENT STRUCTUREL-, SOUS LA DIRECTION CONJOINTE DU FONDS MONETAIRE ET DE LA BANQUE MONDIALE. L'INTENTIONNALITE DISPOSE DE MECANISMES PERIPHERIQUES, CONCERNANT L'ACTION DES GOUVERNEMENTS DU NORD ET DES BANQUES COMMERCIALES. LE REDRESSEMENT INTEGRE DEUX IDEES FORCE, OFFRE INSUFFISANTE ET ABSORPTION EXCESSIVE. CETTE PRATIQUE N'EST PAS EXEMPTE DE DEFAUTS. ELLE SOUFFRE D'UN MANQUE DE PERCEPTION DU LONG TERME ET IGNORE CERTAINS EFFETS NEFASTES, RELATIFS - A LA SENSIBILITE DES ECONOMIES EN DEVELOPPEMENT VIS-A-VIS DE L'EXTERIEUR, - AU PRINCIPE DE VERITE DES PRIX, - DEVALUATIONS... LES INTERVENANTS N'ADOPTENT PAS SYSTEMATIQUEMENT UNE ATTITUDE FAVORABLE A LA RESOLUTION DU PROBLEME. AU TOTAL, LA REGULATION N'ASSURE PAS SES OBJECTIFS. LA REDISTRIBUTION REGRESSIVE CONDAMNE IRREMEDIABLEMENT LE DEVELOPPEMENT PAR EMPRUNTS. LA SOLUTION DE LA CRISE DEPEND BEAUCOUP DE PRINCIPES GENERAUX COMME LE RETABLISSEMENT DE TRANSFERTS POSITIFS ET UN EFFORT PARTICULIER EN DIRECTION DES POPULATIONS LES PLUS DEMUNIES. LES GOUVERNEMENTS DU NORD DOIVENT STIMULER L'ACTIVITE, LES ECHANGES, ET EN FINIR AVEC LES INCERTITUDES AFFECTANT LA SPHERE FINANCIERE. LES CREANCIERS PRIVES GAGNERAIENT A ALIMENTER L'HEMISPHERE SUD EN CAPITAUX. LES GESTIONNAIRES DE CE DERNIER POURRAIENT FAIT MONTRE D'UNE RIGUEUR ACCRUE DANS LA CONDUITE DES AFFAIRES ECONOMIQUES.

Book L endettement du tiers monde

Download or read book L endettement du tiers monde written by Philippe Norel and published by Syros. This book was released on 1992 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book La Dette Ext rieure

Download or read book La Dette Ext rieure written by ... Carreau-Shaw and published by Martinus Nijhoff Publishers. This book was released on 1995 with total page 820 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The practical importance of the subject of 'The External Debt' in contemporary international life goes without saying. On the analytical level, the interest and indeed the difficulty of the subject lies in the need for a multidisciplinary approach, where political, financial and legal aspects are closely linked and require a clear understanding. From the purely legal point of view, the traditional and largely artificial boundaries between private and public law, between private international law and public international law and even, more generally, between municipal and international law are clearly marked here. In this respect any analyst has to be a complete jurist, and this collection of essays (in English and French) is an illustration of this fact.

Book Marxist Monetary Theory

Download or read book Marxist Monetary Theory written by Costas Lapavitsas and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2016-11-21 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The collected papers of Costas Lapavitsas are a pathway to Marxist monetary theory, a field that continues to attract strong interest. The papers range far and wide, including markets and money, finance and the enterprise, power and money, the financialisation of capitalism, finance and profit, even money as art. Despite its breadth, the collection remains highly coherent. Money and finance are pre-eminent, even dominant, features of contemporary capitalism. Lapavitsas has been one of the first political economists to notice their ascendancy and to devote his research to it. He offers a resolutely Marxist perspective on contemporary capitalism while remaining conversant with the history of political economy, sensitive to mainstream economic theory, and fully aware of the empirical reality of financialisation.

Book The Social Structures of the Economy

Download or read book The Social Structures of the Economy written by Pierre Bourdieu and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2014-03-10 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Much orthodox economic theory is based on assumptions which are treated as self-evident: supply and demand are regarded as independent entities, the individual is assumed to be a rational agent who knows his interests and how to make decisions corresponding to them, and so on. But one has only to examine an economic transaction closely, as Pierre Bourdieu does here for the buying and selling of houses, to see that these abstract assumptions cannot explain what happens in reality. As Bourdieu shows, the market is constructed by the state, which can decide, for example, whether to promote private housing or collective provision. And the individuals involved in the transaction are immersed in symbolic constructions which constitute, in a strong sense, the value of houses, neighbourhoods and towns. The abstract and illusory nature of the assumptions of orthodox economic theory has been criticised by some economists, but Bourdieu argues that we must go further. Supply, demand, the market and even the buyer and seller are products of a process of social construction, and so-called ‘economic' processes can be adequately described only by calling on sociological methods. Instead of seeing the two disciplines in antagonistic terms, it is time to recognize that sociology and economics are in fact part of a single discipline, the object of which is the analysis of social facts, of which economic transactions are in the end merely one aspect. This brilliant study by the most original sociologist of post-war France will be essential reading for students and scholars of sociology, economics, anthropology and related disciplines.

Book The Crises of Microcredit

Download or read book The Crises of Microcredit written by Isabelle Guérin and published by Zed Books Ltd.. This book was released on 2015-10-15 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Microcredit programmes, long considered efficient development tools, now face unprecedented crises in a number of countries. Is this the end of microcredit or rather an essential step in its expansion? Should we stop microcredit altogether or rethink the way it is implemented? Drawing on extensive empirical research conducted in various parts of the world - from Morocco to Senegal to India - this important volume examines the whole chain of microcredit to provide the answers to these questions. In doing so, the authors highlight the diversity of crises, both in intensity and in nature, while also shedding light on a diversity of causes, be it microcredit organizations unprepared for massive growth, saturated local economies or greedy investors and shareholders attracted by profits. Crucially, the authors demonstrate that microcredit is not a monolithic project, and the crises should also be analysed in the light of national histories and policies. An original and necessary intervention in what has become one of the most contentious topics within the development world.
