Book Introduction l analyse num rique

Download or read book Introduction l analyse num rique written by Jacques Baranger and published by Editions Hermann. This book was released on 1977 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Approximation Methods for Solutions of Differential and Integral Equations

Download or read book Approximation Methods for Solutions of Differential and Integral Equations written by V. K. Dzyadyk and published by VSP. This book was released on 1995 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the result of 20 years of investigations carried out by the author and his colleagues in order to bring closer and, to a certain extent, synthesize a number of well-known results, ideas and methods from the theory of function approximation, theory of differential and integral equations and numerical analysis. The book opens with an introduction on the theory of function approximation and is followed by a new approach to the Fredholm integral equations to the second kind. Several chapters are devoted to the construction of new methods for the effective approximation of solutions of several important integral, and ordinary and partial differential equations. In addition, new general results on the theory of linear differential equations with one regular singular point, as well as applications of the various new methods are discussed.

Book Numerical Linear Approximation in C

Download or read book Numerical Linear Approximation in C written by Nabih Abdelmalek and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2008-05-19 with total page 964 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Illustrating the relevance of linear approximation in a variety of fields, Numerical Linear Approximation in C presents a unique collection of linear approximation algorithms that can be used to analyze, model, and compress discrete data. Developed by the lead author, the algorithms have been successfully applied to several engineering projects at the National Research Council of Canada. Basing most of the algorithms on linear programming techniques, the book begins with an introductory section that covers applications, the simplex method, and matrices. The next three parts focus on various L1, Chebyshev, and least squares approximations, including one-sided, bounded variables, and piecewise. The final section presents the solution of underdetermined systems of consistent linear equations that are subject to different constraints on the elements of the unknown solution vector. Except in the preliminary section, all chapters include the C functions of the algorithms, along with drivers that contain numerous test case examples and results. The accompanying CD-ROM also provides the algorithms written in C code as well as the test drivers. To use the software, it is not required to understand the theory behind each function.

Book Numerical Approximation Methods

Download or read book Numerical Approximation Methods written by Harold Cohen and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-12-10 with total page 493 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents numerical and other approximation techniques for solving various types of mathematical problems that cannot be solved analytically. In addition to well known methods, it contains some non-standard approximation techniques that are now formally collected as well as original methods developed by the author that do not appear in the literature. This book contains an extensive treatment of approximate solutions to various types of integral equations, a topic that is not often discussed in detail. There are detailed analyses of ordinary and partial differential equations and descriptions of methods for estimating the values of integrals that are presented in a level of detail that will suggest techniques that will be useful for developing methods for approximating solutions to problems outside of this text. The book is intended for researchers who must approximate solutions to problems that cannot be solved analytically. It is also appropriate for students taking courses in numerical approximation techniques.

Book Approximations for Digital Computers

Download or read book Approximations for Digital Computers written by Cecil Hastings Jr. and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2015-12-08 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Numerical analysts and computer operators in all fields will welcome this publication in book form of Cecil Hastings' well-known approximations for digital computers, formerly issued in loose sheets and available only to a limited number of specialists. In a new method that combines judgment and intuition with mathematics, Mr. Hasting has evolved a set of approximations which far surpasses in simplicity earlier approximations developed by conventional methods. Part I of this book introduces the collection of useful and illustrative approximations, each of which is presented with a carefully drawn error curve in Part II. Originally published in 1955. The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest print-on-demand technology to again make available previously out-of-print books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. These editions preserve the original texts of these important books while presenting them in durable paperback and hardcover editions. The goal of the Princeton Legacy Library is to vastly increase access to the rich scholarly heritage found in the thousands of books published by Princeton University Press since its founding in 1905.
