Thus, the making of films in Africa is situated between archaeology, history and remembrance on the one hand and future and utopia on the other hand. The contributions analyse the prospective dimension of African films, the ability to react to important questions of its respective times as well as to anticipate them, as films are based on the idea of a time continuum linking past, present and future using a documentary and a virtual modality.
