Download or read book My Journey Back to Oneness written by Mark Allen Perkins and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2004-09-28 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We spend a great deal of our lives, both awake and asleep, wondering about the great mysteries of our lives. Why am I here? What is the meaning of life? Why me? Is there a God? Many of these questions are unanswerable at this point in our path of enlightenment as humans. Many can be answered, if we allow ourselves to learn our lessons and Reconnect with the Divine Source! Through My Journey Back to Oneness, we will go on a journey of rediscovery. This journey offers you the probability of experiencing healing on physical, mental and spiritual levels. A journey back to the place where we all started...a place of Oneness with the Divine Source. Our journey will begin with a refocusing of our perceptions of good and bad; us and them; and the other representation of duality that influences how we experience the world around us. We will then get a glimpse of the concepts behind Hawaiian mysticism and Shamanism - and establish the basic understanding of energy and reality as defined in these concepts. A brief comparison of religious beliefs follows along with an exploration of a very powerful healing tool - prayer. This is followed by an exploration of the applications of these concepts. Next, we will investigate the ancient qualities and bacic nature of the concepts discussed. Futher, we will attempt to make ties between these concepts and the origins of human beings. Finally, there are several appendices outlining recommended readings and training that can enhance your personal journey back to oneness.

Book The Kumulipo

    Book Details:
  • Author : Queen Liliuokalani
  • Publisher :
  • Release : 2020-03-05
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 76 pages

Download or read book The Kumulipo written by Queen Liliuokalani and published by . This book was released on 2020-03-05 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is Queen Liliuokalani's translation of the Hawaiian Creation chant, the Kumulipo. She translated this while under house arrest at Iolani Palace, and it was subsequently published in 1897. This is an extremely rare book which was republished (in a very scarce edition) by Pueo Press in 1978. The Kumulipo's composition is attributed to one of Liliuokalani's eighteenth century ancestors, Keaulumoku, just prior to European contact. It is a sophisticated epic which describes the origin of species in terms that Darwin would appreciate. The Kumulipo moves from the emergence of sea creatures, to insects, land plants, animals, and eventually human beings. It describes a complicated web of interrelationships between various plants and animals. The most massive part of the chant is a genealogy which enumerates thousands of ancestors of the Hawaiian royal family. The Kumulipo is also available at this site in the 1951 translation of Martha Warren Beckwith, with comprehensive analysis and the complete Hawaiian text. However Liliuokalani's version is of some historical significance. The last Queen of Hawaii, Liliuokalani was extremely literate, and steeped in Hawaiian tradition. She was the author of the well-known Hawaiian anthem, Aloha 'Oe as well as a Hawaiian history book, Hawai'i's Story by Hawai'i's Queen.

Book Freedom for the Seas in the 21st Century

Download or read book Freedom for the Seas in the 21st Century written by Jon M. Van Dyke and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 548 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Freedom for the Seas in the 21st Century brings together leading international experts on marine policy to address current threats to the health of the seas and to offer new approaches to the challenge of protecting our marine environment. The paradigm presented is one of ocean governance rather than of law or policy; it challenges the prevailing concept of "freedom of the seas" and calls instead for a governing notion of "freedom for the seas" where the primary goal is the protection of ecological vitality. Topics covered include: *strategies for controlling ocean pollution *regulation of high-seas fishing *defects in current deep seabed mining regulatory provisions *threats to the marine environment posed by military activities

Book Ethnobiology of Corals and Coral Reefs

Download or read book Ethnobiology of Corals and Coral Reefs written by Nemer Narchi and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-12-24 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the ethnobiology of corals by examining the various ways in which humans, past and present, have exploited and taken care of coral and coralline habitats. This book will bring the educated general audience closer to corals by exploring the various circumstances of human-coral coexistence by providing scientifically sound and jargon-free perspectives and experiences from across the globe. Corals are a vital part of the marine environment since they promote and sustain marine and global biodiversity while providing numerous other environmental and cultural services. Countless valuable coral conservation efforts are published in academic and general audience venues on a daily basis. However relevant, few of these reports show a direct, deeper understanding of the intimate relationship between people and corals throughout the world’s societies. Ethnobiology of Corals and Coral Reefs establishes an intimate bond between the audience and the wonder of corals and their importance to humankind.

Book Hawaiian Grammar

Download or read book Hawaiian Grammar written by Samuel H. Elbert and published by University of Hawaii Press. This book was released on 2021-05-25 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Without question, this is the definitive grammar of the Hawaiian language. Indeed it is the first attempt at a comprehensive treatment of the subject since W. D. Alexander published his concise Short Synopsis of the Most Essential Points in Hawaiian Grammar in 1864. This grammar is intended as a companion to the Hawaiian Dictionary, by the same authors. The grammar was written with every student of the Hawaiian language in mind—from the casual interested layperson to the professional linguist and grammarian. Although it was obviously impossible to avoid technical terms, their use was kept to a minimum, and a glossary is included for those who need its help. Each point of grammar is illustrated with examples, many from Hawaiian-language literature.
