Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An international array of authors, including some prominent extreme athletes like Jake Burton and Arlo Eisenberg, look at a variety of issues and concerns within the new action extreme sports that are gaining popularity throughout the world. For each sport, an interpretation is presented through two essays: one written by a scholar active in some aspect of research for the given activity, and another by a practitioner/athlete who writes "from the inside out." The juxtaposed essays confront questions about the essence of sport such as, What is sport?; How does it originate?; and What is its use, value, and function? This book offers a fascinating look at how twentieth- and twenty-first-century sport forms emerge, proliferate, and take hold in a sport-crazy world.

Book excerpt: From USA Today Bestselling Author K Webster comes a new motorcycle club dark standalone MM romance novel! They created this monster when they took me as a teen. Abused me, tortured me, psychologically ruined me. I was once innocent, fragile, and good. Now I’m older and everything wicked. The worst of the worst. I’m filled with fiery rage and burn with the need to avenge the death of the boy I used to be. Vicious and violent and vindictive. A metaphorical dragon among men, thirsty to set fire to them all. Only my mission of depraved justice will have to wait because Prez needs me for something else. If he wasn’t single-handedly responsible for dragging me from the sick nightmare my life had become, I’d tell him exactly where to shove his stupid idea of putting me on babysitting duty. My charge is a prospect. Not just any prospect, but the young, innocent Cove Gale who shouldn’t be within a hundred-mile radius of this vile club I call home. I’m supposed to be keeping him safe. But Cove’s a reckless brat with a mouth that begs for trouble. Prez should know better than to give me a toy to play with. I break things and I’ll break him too. The prospect is just a boy. And he’s just unleashed the dragon… ***This is a gay romance and the third book in the RBMC: Tulsa, OK series. It can be read as a standalone but may be better enjoyed after reading the first two, Koyn and Copper. Koyn and Copper are both MF stories while this one is MM.***

Book excerpt: From USA Today Bestselling Author K Webster, comes a new MC dark standalone novel! I’m a Fed. Rigid. Rule follower. One of the good guys. I uphold the law…when it suits me. My loyalty lies first with my brother, Koyn, and secondly with his motorcycle club. Jeremy Koynakov was the man I used to be. I’m Copper now. For a decade, I aided my brother in his quest for revenge. We thirsted for vengeance. Hunted the villains together. Killed when necessary. He finally found some semblance of peace in a mouthy pageant girl, and all was right in our screwed-up world. But a certain blonde within our ranks ruined everything. Tried to wreck our home, our lives, and our freedom. She betrayed us. Because of me. It’s my responsibility to deal with this little storm who was set on destroying our world. I could end her. It’d be easier. Simple and clean. But that’s not the MC way. We pride ourselves on being brutal and messy. For a man who’s spent the better part of ten years, aching to make those suffer who’ve wronged my family, it’s a simple choice: Take her. Punish her. Make her pay. I’m done following rules. That time of my life is over. I’ll finally patch in and become how I’ve been groomed to be. I’m ready to embrace this new life where I’m not a good guy… Every villain needs a pet. And she just became mine.

Book A Dictionary of Tocharian B

Download or read book A Dictionary of Tocharian B written by Douglas Q. Adams and published by Rodopi. This book was released on 2013 with total page 980 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second edition of A Dictionary of Tocharian B includes substantially all Tocharian B words found in regularly published texts, as well as all those of the London and Paris collections published digitally (digital publication of the Paris collection is still incomplete), and a substantial number of the Berlin collection published digitally. The number of entries is more than twenty per cent greater than in the first edition. The overall approach is decidedly philological. All words except proper names are provided with example contexts. Each word is given in all its various attested morphological forms, in its variant spellings, and discussed semantically, syntactically (where appropriate), and etymologically. New to the second edition is the assignment, where possible, of the examples of the word’s use to their exact chronological period (Archaic, Early, Classical, Late/Colloquial). This dating provides the beginning of the study of the Tocharian B vocabulary on a historical basis. Included are also a reverse English-Tocharian B index and, another innovation to this edition, a general index verborum of Indo-European cognates.

Book The Pee wee Harris Scouting MEGAPACK

Download or read book The Pee wee Harris Scouting MEGAPACK written by Percy Keese Fitzhugh and published by Wildside Press LLC. This book was released on 2020-08-02 with total page 1030 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Haunters of used book stores may have spotted the mystery and adventure books of Percy Keese Fitzhugh (1876-1950). They were phenomenally popular in the 1920s, and millions of copies were sold. Fitzhugh was an American author. His first known work, The Goldenrod Story Book, was published in 1906. The bulk of his work, having a Boy Scouting theme, revolves around the fictional town of Bridgeboro, New Jersey. Characters included Tom Slade, Pee-wee Harris, Roy Blakely, and Westy Martin. Fitzhugh's Scouting based books were very popular with children and adults. His characters became so real to his readers that it was not uncommon for Percy to receive fan mail addressed to the characters themselves. In the 1930s, attempting to branch out, he began writing the Hal Keen Mystery Series (10 titles) under the pseudonym Hugh Lloyd. They were followed by another mystery series, Skippy Dare, though this one only lasted for 3 books. Neither of these series achieved the popularity of his Scout work. This volume contains the first 7 Pee-Wee Harris books: Pee-wee Harris (1922) Pee-wee Harris on the Trail (1922) Pee-wee Harris in Camp (1922) Pee-wee Harris in Luck (1922) Pee-wee Harris Adrift (1922) Pee-wee Harris, F.O.B. Bridgeboro (1923) Pee-wee Harris, Fixer (1924) If you enjoy this volume of the MEGAPACK® series, check out the more than 400 other volumes, covering children's literature, science fiction, fantasy, horror, mystery, romance—and much, much more! Coordination has been studied intensively in English and other major European languages, but we are only beginning to understand the range of variation that is found world-wide. This volume consists of a number of general studies, as well as fourteen case studies of coordinating constructions in languages or groups of languages: Africa (Iraqw, Fongbe, Hausa), the Caucasus (Daghestanian, Tsakhur, Chechen), the Middle East (Persian and other Western Iranian languages), Southeast Asia (Lai, Karen, Indonesian), the Pacific (Lavukaleve, Oceanic, Nêlêmwa), and the Americas (Upper Kuskokwim Athabaskan). A detailed introductory chapter summarizes the main results of the volume and situates them in the context of other relevant current research.

Charlie is forced to leave the safety of family, school, and baseball to be on the run from poachers, criminals, and would-be kidnappers. Charlie enters a world of all things--the good and the bad that affirms, like Charlie, that we all are actors upon the stage of life. He, like us, must become quick studies to retain all that good in us.
