Book excerpt: Aus dem Vorwort Mit dem vorliegenden Katalog erscheint der erste Band der koptischen Handschriften der Staatsbibliothek Preussischer Kulturbesitz zu Berlin, in dem ein Teil der liturgischenManuskripte dieser Bibliothek beschrieben wird. Die Einarbeitung in die Berliner Handschriften wurde zum einen durch das handschriftliche "Verzeichnis der Koptischen Handschriften der Koniglichen Bibliothek zu Berlin" aus der Feder von Ludwig Stern (1846-1911), zum anderen durch einschlagige Aufzeichnungen von Alexander Bohlig (1912-1996) und Hans Quecke (1929-1998) erleichtert. Es werden moglichst detallierte Beschreibungen geben, damit die liturgischen Sequenzen durchsichtig werden. Nicht selten werden interessante oder singulare Texte in toto ausgeschrieben. Wie in den schon vorliegenden Banden werden keine Emendationen vorgenommen, noch Sics erteilt. Zur Erhohung der Anschaulichkeit sind dem Band wieder eine Reihe von Fototafeln beigefugt, die wichtige Kolophone und signifikante illuminierte Seiten zeigen. "Der Katalog ist, auch das darf in einem solchen Fall erwahnt werden, in guter Druckqualitat auf hochwertigem Papier gedruckt. [...] (es) findet sich alles, was das wissenschaftliche Herz begehren mag, in den ausserst sorgfaltig gearbeiteten umfangreichen Indices.
