Book excerpt: Kissing Kendall by Jennifer Shirk The one woman he wants is the only one he can't have. Kendall Grisbaum is finally taking charge of her life—pouring her heart into opening a new bakery business and even allowing her best friend Georgie to play matchmaker for her. Trouble is, the one guy she secretly wants is Georgie's older brother, Brad, who is decidedly off limits. Brad can't seem to get his little sister's best friend out of his mind. He and Kendall used to be close friends, too, and as a local policeman, Brad can't help but play protector, looking out for Kendall. When he offers to help her renovate her new bakery space on the side, their friendship—and their attraction—flares back to life. Amid the temptation of doughnut muffins and blueberry cobbler, a new temptation draws them both closer. Can they take a chance on love when it means risking their friendship, even when not doing so risks everything?

Book excerpt: Pack up those troubles in a designer bag and…ignore them. Forced into a corner by her family, Kendall Essex has one option if she wants peace. She leaves her Devon home to visit her friend in Churchill, Manitoba. While she’s aware her ostrich-head-in-the-sand plan isn’t the best, she hopes for breathing space from familial pressure and distraction. The big, burly Hallsten brothers provide that and more… Half-breed Saxby Hallsten has never fit in the polar bear shifter world. If he had his way, he’d never return to Churchill, but personal business forces him to venture north. His two younger half-brothers—both full polar bear shifters—are ecstatic at seeing their home and family again, but the memories of the past haunt Sax. The only good thing about Churchill is meeting Kendall, but even she presents a dilemma because both Sax and his two brothers are attracted to her. She’s curvy and smart and the perfect woman for them. Persuading her to date them takes finesse and creative strategy. Coaxing her to accept them as a package deal might take a miracle since she knows nothing of shifters. But one night Kendall disappears, and the Hallsten brothers’ secret collides with Kendall’s past and her future. Ignoring trouble is no longer the solution if any of them want a happy-ever-after in this non-traditional relationship. Contains a curvy blonde with an interfering mother, three brothers with their own family problems and sweet, sexy times for four. There’s danger and adventure. Oh, and a cell phone that is much the worse for wear.

Book Why Don t We Kiss

Download or read book Why Don t We Kiss written by Wim De Keyser and published by ASP / VUBPRESS / UPA. This book was released on 2010-04 with total page 341 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Decision theory renders the human decision maker the centre of attention: observing, describing how he makes decisions and leading him by the hand in an attempt to prevent him from taking `illogical' decisions. Literature and scientific publications on decision theory should be accessible and understandable to the average decision maker but this is almost never the case since these methods and models are too complex and/or require input from the decision maker which makes him feel uncomfortable. The result is that most decision makers turn their back on scientific approaches and prefer to use common sense and `rules of thumb' when facing decision problems. To breach the current wide gap between decision makers and academic researchers a clear idea as to what a human decision maker is and is not capable of is needed. Based on these elements less sophisticated models need to be build. In this book, a KISS-principle is proposed and several methods in the field of decision making by one decision maker or by group, resulting from close contacts with real world decision makers, are presented. Field cases are used to illustrate the methods and a lot of application fields are presented.
