Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Preface Kisses in the Snow-Melt is a heart-felt, sometimes humorous tale about two teenagers that explores their transition from friendship to love and sexual intimacy. Rowland and Lynette come from families with opposing notions of what a youngster should be told regarding sexuality. Rowlands family never speaks of it while Lynettes family has a relaxed yet radical candor. Rowlands main exposure to Lynette occurs while skinnydipping at her favorite swimming hole. Lynettes upbringing frees them not only from religious repression but also from a lurid culture that exploits teenage sexuality for the sake of sales while dodging its reality. Through Lynettes grandfather Brian, a retired professor of biology, one gains a greater recognition of the fact that literature has failed to offer even one redemptive tale that pictures sexuality as a respectable part of adolescence. Cynical, satirical, or scandalous, novels such as The Catcher in the Rye, Lolita, and The Lord of the Flies avoid the point. The basic point is that, perhaps for the first time in the history of the novel, Kisses in the Snow-Melt shows such love as normal and potentially beautiful. Kisses in the Snow-Melt is a very fine novella on an important subject. It is civilized and sensible. Although erotic, it is never prurient. Technically it is excellent with smooth dialogue, description, and narration Peter Bien, Professor of English Emeritus, Dartmouth College

A high-brow college student, Daniel Coventry, hopes to be a writer. He encounters the forgotten but immensely gifted pulp novelist Stephen Chidley, who wrote action-oriented novels by the dozens in a month apiece while living his adventures. He is also inspired by the novelists granddaughter Dora, who resides in Stephens home near Daniels dorm. Through Daniel, they become entangled with his best professor, Cynthia Schuler, an outspoken feminist and scholar. Cynthia also wrangles with her chauvinist, unfaithful husband and has fallen for her favorite student after many rounds of lovemaking in her office. Each of them confronts the fear of failure. Daniel is afraid of flunking if he cant complete a novel for his graduation. Stephen is afraid thathe abused his fabulous storytelling talents as a pulp writer who came close to greatness only in a single memorable novel. Dora is afraid of any loss of independence. Cynthia is afraid of failing Daniel and of losing him to Dora. Step by comic misstep, they confront their differences and the chasm that divides the ivory tower from popular culture. With a month remaining, they decide that only one solution will enable Daniel to begin his book and race to finish it in time forgraduation: Let him crystallize the chaos of their year-long battle in a way that blends the best of academia and action!

Although Stella starts 'living sequentially' in both realities, she thrives far more in her ancient life. However, an impending war could also get her people slaughtered unless she takes immediate action to save herself and her tribe. During her dual-life journey, Stella draws the interest of Dr. Vale, an unappreciated, thirty-something professor of paleoanthropology, charismatic Chieftain Hari of the Jarmo tribe, and young Ashur, a prehistoric teenager in need of lessons in love. But when the time comes to make an irrevocable choice between the two, will Stella choose down-to-earth reality or the allure of the unknown?

Book When Time and Eternity Kiss

Download or read book When Time and Eternity Kiss written by Sean Maddox and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2016-09-27 with total page 740 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A LIFE-CHANGING SPIRITUAL MASTERWORK ON GOD, HUMAN DESTINY, AND THE BIBLE A UNIQUE SPIRITUAL JOURNEY GUIDE When Time and Eternity Kiss is a boldly provocative and highly original new interpretation of the Bible--a page-turner for believers, seekers, skeptics, and secularists alike. By harmonizing the Bible with 21st c. quantum physics and the "Big Bang" theory, Maddox leads us into the labyrinth of God's mind. What are we? Where do we come from? Do we have a destiny? The Bible proclaims: "You are gods." What does that mean? Is there an objective reality or just the illusion of one, as Eastern spiritual traditions assert, quantum physics theorizes, and Einstein suggested? In When Time and Eternity Kiss, author Sean Maddox argues passionately that the Bible answers life's most perplexing questions. He supports his propositions by integrating wisdom and insight from mythologies, biblical Hebrew, Kabbalah, Hindu Chakras, Buddhism, psychology, archetypal symbolism, dream work, and quantum physics. His multidisciplinary perspective allows readers to see with new eyes how the Bible is the spiritual guide par excellence to the psycho-spiritual evolution of divine and human consciousness. INSPIRED, GROUNDBREAKING SCHOLARSHIP This revolutionary work is the culmination of the author's twenty-five-year journey of psycho-spiritual inquiry, study, and singular personal sacrifices. Maddox emerges as a daringly independent scholar and visionary who peers into the Bible's riveting mysteries and reveals God's Feminine Side in the texts. Aptly titled, When Time and Eternity Kiss is a passionate cosmic love story from start to finish. At the climax of the book, Maddox upends traditional interpretations as he illuminates the two Genesis Creation stories and shares his vision of why God shattered the silence of Eternity to create life in time and space. In radiant lucid prose, Maddox restores the Bible to 21st c. relevancy as the cornerstone of Western civilization.
