Book excerpt: It was a murder made for TV: a trail of tiny bloody footprints. An innocent toddler playing beside her mother's body. Stay tuned for the next riveting thriller in the Taylor Jackson series by New York Times bestselling author J.T. Ellison. Cameras and questions don't usually faze Nashville homicide lieutenant Taylor Jackson, but when pregnant Corinne Wolff is brutally murdered in her own home, the media frenzy surrounding the case is particularly nasty. When the seemingly model mommy is linked to an amateur porn website with underage actresses and unwitting players, the sharks begin to circle. The shock is magnified when an old adversary uses the sexy secret footage to implicate Taylor in a murder—an accusation that threatens her career, her reputation and her relationship. Both cases hinge on the evidence—real or manufactured—of crimes that go beyond passion, into the realm of obsessive vengeance and shocking betrayal. Just what the networks love. Previously Published. Book The Deep Hurt of the Judas Kiss

Download or read book The Deep Hurt of the Judas Kiss written by Martin Wisenbaker and published by . This book was released on 2011-02-14 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Western culture has little or no concept of how deep the hurt was from the kiss from Judas to Jesus. This type of kiss, (2705) was placed on the cheek or the neck and was an expression of endearment or mark of tenderness among friends. In order to begin to understand the depth of hurt Jesus experienced we need to make a study of situations in the scriptures where this type of kiss is used and to understand the motive of the persons initiating the act as well as the emotional needs of the recipients. This type of kiss had nothing to do with any form of sexual intent as can be seen in each and every situation in which it is mentioned. Instances in which sexual intent is intended are plainly understood. These instances are all between male and female in the context of holy matrimony or upcoming holy matrimony except in Proverbs 7:13 (below). They should be understood as separate types of kisses. Lumping them together as the same is to not only miss a blessing of a therapeutic benefit, but is a gross misunderstanding which leads to a false accusation which in turn compounds the original problem thus further embroiling the victim(s) in a miry pit. Romantic kisses are seen in Song of Solomon 1:2 and 8:1. Also in Genesis 29:11 when Jacob kissed Rachael and in Proverbs 7:13 when a harlot kissed a man to seduce him. All other references to kissing refer to kisses as a mark of tenderness between friends or family members other than husband and wife.

Book excerpt: This fascinating books sifts the evidence and startlingly concludes that in the earliest sources Judas was not a traitor. While the name Judas Iscariot evokes horror among many people, Klassen argues persuasively that Judas may have meant no harm in handing over Jesus to the religious authorities. The book traces the ways in which Judas is portrayed by the four writers of the gospels, showing how the picture was increasingly demonized as the later gospels were written. This is the most important study in English of Judas within the context of first-century Judaism. Klassen shows by rich reference to literature of both the ancient period and later times how the concept of Judas as traitor emerged.
