Download or read book Kiss Your Money Hello written by Bill Hines and published by Wild Lake Press, Inc. This book was released on 2023-04-19 with total page 374 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It's here! Your guide to a financially independent life - no more money stress! This book is a complete, modern, comprehensive guide to your personal finance life. It's the key to never having to go to a job you detest, to living every day on your own terms. Why this book? Right now, you may be browsing a few personal finance books in a library, bookstore, or even online. Why this one? Is it worth a couple of dollars and hours of your time? Here’s why. I’ve read the others. Almost every book was someone telling their own personal rags to riches tale. That’s admirable, but the likelihood that it’s even close to you and your personal situation is quite remote. What worked for them will probably not work for you. Everyone is different, every situation is unique. Some assume their readers all want to be mega-rich. In my experience, most people just want to be happy, without money stress, and have a good, fun, comfortable life. That said, if you want to be rich, I’ll show you how to do that too. So (get to the point, Bill!), why this one? Because this book is based on my experience as a financial counselor, investment advisor, and financial planner. This book is a user manual for your money! No matter who you are, there is plenty for you. We cover FIRE (Financial Independence/Retire Early). This book is the way to financial peace, to relieving the number one stressor in our lives and relationships. It’s the guide to living every day on your own terms, and never having to go to a job you no longer love, of never having to miss those important life events because, work. I’ll keep it short and simple—just the way your personal finances should be! The first word of the title is no coincidence. KISS also means Keep It Simple Silly! Maybe I’ll even make you laugh once or twice. Your household is a mini-business, only you measure success in ‘happy’, not some corporate financial metric. I’m not going to guilt-trip you about buying a latte. I’m going to convince you that doing the right things now, getting over the hump in a short period, means buying all the lattes and new cars you want, with cash, not credit, for the rest of your life. Those lattes will taste so much better, and you’ll enjoy the ride more in a car you own, not the bank. You’ll watch the former car payment money grow like weeds in your investment accounts. Can you trust me? Yes, you can. I’ve helped countless people, and I want you to do well. I want you to be happy, and enjoy this one life we get (as far as we know!). This book is for you. This is generational knowledge for your kids and parents. Who am I? When I was a kid, I was a huge superhero fan. I’d sit in the corner luncheonette and read comic books on my way home from school until the owner would throw me out. I didn’t have the money to buy them, my parents didn’t have the money to give me. I’d peek out from my bedroom at night and see my mother stressing out over a kitchen table full of bills, writing out checks and stuffing them in envelopes. Kiss your money goodbye, I heard more than once (hence, my title!). I watched my father come home from work exhausted, especially as he got older. I didn’t want to be the superhero who could fly, be invisible, shoot lasers out of my eyes, or swing from building to building on spider webs. I wanted to be the kind that could help people like my parents. That’s where the title of this book came from. Instead of paying your hard earned money out to everyone under the sun, watching each paycheck or retirement distribution fly away, you’re going to welcome it back. Hello, hard earned money! Let’s have some fun together! I became that superhero, and I believe I still am. Let’s get this party started!

Download or read book Live Fast Love Hard written by Diane Diekman and published by University of Illinois Press. This book was released on 2011-05-18 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As one of the best-known honky tonkers to appear in the wake of Hank Williams’s death, Faron Young was a popular presence on Nashville’s music scene for more than four decades. The Singing Sheriff produced a string of Top Ten hits, placed over eighty songs on the country music charts, and founded the long-running country music periodical Music City News in 1963. Flamboyant, impulsive, and generous, he helped and encouraged a new generation of talented songwriter-performers that included Willie Nelson and Bill Anderson. In 2000, four years after his untimely death, Faron was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Presenting the first detailed portrayal of this lively and unpredictable country music star, Diane Diekman masterfully draws on extensive interviews with Young’s family, band members, and colleagues. Impeccably researched, Diekman’s narrative also weaves anecdotes from Louisiana Hayride and other old radio shows with ones from Young’s business associates, including Ralph Emery. Her unique insider’s look into Young’s career adds to an understanding of the burgeoning country music entertainment industry during the key years from 1950 to 1980, when the music expanded beyond its original rural roots and blossomed into a national (ultimately, international) enterprise. Echoing Young’s characteristic ability to entertain and surprise fans, Diekman combines an account of his public career with a revealing, intimate portrait of his personal life.

Download or read book Laugh It Off written by Whit Whitley and published by Archway Publishing. This book was released on 2024-03-19 with total page 86 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you need to escape the problems of the day, open this book and start a journey into absurdity. Whit Whitley, a creative screenwriter and open-mike comedy performer who has performed in numerous film and theater productions, shares a compilation of his open mike monologues presented in character. You’ll be entertained by a series on his comic travels, which have taken him to various destinations. His anecdotal stories will have your mind so redirected with extreme zaniness that you will have to take a break before going back to work. The author’s situational comedies will also have you wondering where in the world he came up with such crazy stories. His parody songs, altered poems, and his monologues will delight anyone with a sense of humor. Today, however, even the great Groucho Marx, who never used profanity, would be criticized by some for his humor and banter. So, if this analogy applies to you, put down this book because others will be laughing it off.
Download or read book Scattered to the Winds written by Joy Thomas and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2022-11-15 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ‘Scattered to the Winds’ pursues Gee as she navigates her way through a life packed with secrets. This life entwines with her husband Alfred, an Irish sailor Michael and Dennis, a small town lad from the wheatbelt of Western Australia. Set towards the end of the Second World War. It ranges from Fremantle to areas of the Pacific war zone and back to Fremantle. It continues to the “Golden West’s” Wheatbelt region after the war is over. Gee has a secret. It isn’t a secret about death and dire consequences. Yes, she has a secret in fact she has more than one, but it’s about fighting for her own existence, realising the futility of her love and of surviving a life that resulted in a woman needing to leave her children behind. Did the circumstances force her into this decision or did she decide it was the best for all? Choices or fate. I have no idea. Recollections of her own childhood defined a difficult woman to know. She had learnt early on how to manipulate any circumstances to her advantage in which she found herself. Running from her memories and never facing her choices enabled her to move on to make a new life. Over the time she changed her name, her age, her look, but her personality and her loud laugh stayed the same. With Gee never truly finding a sense of peace.

Book excerpt: Originally published in 1942 to rave reviews and astonishing commercial success, Night Shift dramatizes the working class life of the Midwest during World War II with the excitement of melodrama, the vividness of documentary, and the page-turning quality of the best commercial fiction. Sally Otis works herself to the bone as a waitress, supporting her three children and a jobless younger sister. With her bills mounting and no rest in sight, Sally's resolve is beginning to crumble when her swaggering older sister, Petey Braun, appears on the scene. Petey, with her furs and jewels and exotic trips, is an American career woman—one who makes a career of men. But when Petey gets a gig at the glamorous, rowdy local nightclub, it will forever alter the world of the struggling Otis family. Night Shift “manages to be touching and horrible, sentimental and brutal all at the same time. It is both sordidly real and theatrically melodramatic. It’s good” (New York Times).
