Manch einer würde jetzt vielleicht einwenden, dass das wohl nicht so schlimm sei, denn es gäbe doch ein recht reges Kirchenleben, und das überall, in allen Erdteilen. Niemals fanden so viele Bestrebungen statt, die Kirchen und Gemeinschaften wachsen zu lassen und die Gläubigen zu einen. Das stimmt natürlich und dem kann ich nicht widersprechen. Die entscheidende Frage ist nur: Unter welchen Vorzeichen findet diese Einigung statt und noch wichtiger: Unter welchen Aspekten des Evangeliums? Genau diejenigen Kirchen, welche die Einigung vorantreiben, haben ein und dasselbe Problem: Sie stehen nicht zum vollen Evangelium. So wende ich mich also einerseits an die Brüder und Schwestern der Freikirchen und andererseits an die Prediger und Pastoren derselben. Mir geht es nicht im Entferntesten darum, mit dieser Schrift die einen oder anderen anzuklagen oder gar zu richten, denn ich weiss sehr wohl, dass der Zeitgeist eine ganz langsame, kaum wahrnehmbare Dekadenz in das Dogma des Evangeliums hereinbringt und so dieses beinahe unmerklich so verändert, dass es seine Wirkung mehr und mehr verwässert. Es ist Aufgabe dieser Schrift, die heilsrelevanten wunden Punkte aufzuzeigen und dabei wird dem einen oder anderen Leser sein Glaubensgebäude arge Risse bekommen. Es ist zwar nicht meine Absicht, dass dieses Glaubensgebäude einzustürzen droht, vielmehr ist es meine Absicht, dass es vollständig in sich zusammenfällt. Denn nur so kann ein sicheres, neues und dem vollen Evangelium gerechtes Glaubensgebäude errichtet werden, dessen weiser Architekt und kluger Baumeister der wahre Geist Gottes ist. Es wird zwar nicht jedem eitel Freude machen, das volle biblische Evangelium zu hören, viele werden Anstoss nehmen und es von sich weisen.

Book excerpt: Matthias Reinhard Hoffmann identifies an angelomorphic portrait of Christ in certain passages of Revelation and provides possible reasons for the inclusion of an angelomorphic Christology: Angelomorphic Christology is not regarded as an isolated christological concept. In turn, the author compares angelomorphic Christology with the prominent Lamb Christology of Revelation. A comparison of these concepts reveals that both Lamb and angelomorphic Christology serve the purpose of contrasting different functions of Christ. The functions correspond with the implied perception of Christ by his followers on the one hand and his opponents on the other. Accordingly, Christ appears to be an eschatological juridical figure (described in angelomorphic patterns) to his opposition, while he is perceived as salvific redeemer (in form of the Lamb) by those who believe in him. Such a christological perspective draws on traditions from the Exodus narrative, namely the features of the Passover Lamb and the Destroying Angel. Further, equality between God and Christ is established despite an angelomorphic portrait of Christ: especially those passages describing Christ as the Lamb put him on par with God. But also within visions with an angelomorphic description of Christ, his status as superior to angels and as an equal to God is displayed.

Und zwar nicht nur aus den Gründen, derent wegen auch sonst ein Werk, das Entscheidendes zu sagen hat, seine Zeit braucht, bis es zugänglich wird, sondern auch deshalb, weil sich dem Schicksal des Werkes Rosenzweigs die leidvollen Spuren der jüdischen Emigration deutlich eingegraben haben. Franz Rosenzweig starb 42-jährig im Dezember 1929, drei Jahre vor dem Ausbruch der braunen Diktatur. Edith Rosen zweig, seine Gattin, konnte zwar 1935 und 1937 noch die Kleine ren Schriften und eine Auswahl aus Rosenzweigs Briefen ver öffentlichen. Die beiden Bände gehören zu den wenigen umfang reicheren von Juden verfaßten Büchern, deren Druck in jenen Jahren möglich war. An weitere Veröffentlichungen war damals aber nicht zu denken. Der handschriftliche Nachlaß Rosenzweigs wurde zum Teil Glatzernach den Vereinigten Staaten, zum Teil durch Nahum N.
