Book Rabbis Sorcerers Kings and Priests

Download or read book Rabbis Sorcerers Kings and Priests written by Jason Sion Mokhtarian and published by Univ of California Press. This book was released on 2015-09-01 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Rabbis, Sorcerers, Kings, and Priests brings into mutual fruition the fields of Talmudic Studies and Ancient Iranology, two historically distinct disciplines. Mokhtarian offers a revisionist history of the rabbis of late antique Persia who produced the Babylonian Talmud, perhaps the most important corpus in the Jewish sacred canon. While most research on the Talmud assumes that the rabbis were an insular group isolated from the cultural horizon outside of the rabbinic academies, this book contextualizes the rabbis and Talmud within a broader socio-cultural orbit by drawing from a wide range of sources from Sasanian Iran, including Middle Persian Zoroastrian literature, archaeological evidence, and the Jewish Aramaic magical bowls"--Provided by publisher.

Book excerpt: Kingdom Bible Study's From the Candlestick to the Throne Book One coveringThe Revelation of Jesus Christ from the book of Revelation Chapter 1:1 - 1:16This is the First of Eight current biblical study guides being made available through Kindle. The book of Revelation is THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST. The book of Revelation is a book that teaches who and what Jesus Christ is. It reveals Him in all of His fullness. In "The Candle Stick To The Throne" study course on the Revelation you will begin to discover through the power of the Holy Spirit that in the book of Revelation Jesus the Christ is in every chapter of the book, for it is the revelation of Himself. When we read the message of the Revelation with a heart that seeks after Christ, we see in every page His face and hear from every line His voice. If we do not see Christ in the pages of the Revelation then all we see is vanity. By drawing near to this book in the power of the Holy Spirit we drew near to Christ. As dew distilling from the heavens comes the revelation of Jesus Christ from every page of John's vision. It is the drama of God's great plan of the ages wrought out first in the saints, then in the nations, and finally in all the vast creations of God. How beautiful that is!The book of revelation is the Sixth Gospel of Jesus Christ. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John wrote what they saw of Jesus Christ on the earth in the days of His flesh. Luke, in the book of Acts wrote of the revelation of Jesus that came by the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost and throughout the in-part realm of the earnest of the Spirit during the Church age. But John in the book of Revelation wrote what he witnessed of the full and complete revelation of Jesus Christ that comes to and through "him that overcomes." In the revelation of Jesus Christ in sons upon Mount Zion, in the Manchild on the throne, and in the New Jerusalem come down from God out of heaven. John wrote in the Revelation what he saw of the ascended and glorified Christ manifesting out of the heavens of God's Spirit. The Revelation releases the mind of Christ manifesting out of the heavens of God's Spirit. The Revelation releases the mind of Christ out of celestial realms. We must by the Holy Spirit get on the horse, put our feet in the stirrups, take hold of the reins and ride through the Revelation experientially in the anointing from on High. We must be in the Spirit on the Lord's day to understand it, just as John was in the Spirit on the Lord' day to receive it. And when we do - we see Jesus! The mark of the beast. Armageddon. The Four Horsemen. The False Prophet. Babylon the great. Falling stars, stinging locusts and giant hailstones. The seven last plagues. The bottomless pit. The lake of fire. These images of terror and catastrophe from the book of Revelation have greatly influenced the thinking of millions of Christians through the ages. Revelation is the drama of God's great plan of the ages wrought out first in the saints, then in the nations and finally in all the vast creations of God. Everything in the Revelation is viewed from the divine perspective. It is not the history of Satan's activity in men, but the all-conquering power of God's Christ! It is the spiritual drama of Father's dealings in our lives. Despite 1900 years of fascination with the book of Revelation, John's letter to the seven Churches of Asia continue to be misunderstood and badly misinterpreted. It's time that we allow the Holy Spirit to reveal to us and within us just who and what Jesus really is in all His glorious wonder. As you discover the Revelation of Jesus afresh in your life and soak in the manifest wonder of His abundant life you will find yourself challenged and changed by the power of the Holy Spirit and begin to discover not so much who you are in Christ but who this Jesus living in you is and He wants you as an overcomer to a just like Him. Let the change begin. Let it begin within me!

Book Faith and the Marketplace

Download or read book Faith and the Marketplace written by Bill Winston and published by . This book was released on 2016-09 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Faith and the Marketplace is a life-transforming book on the supernatural business of the kingdom of God, and a kingdom leadership playbook that promises to catapult you to the next level of your career, profession, business, or ministry. You will learn how to build your faith in God and understand His perfect plan for your life. Your faith was never meant to be separated from your work or business life. Bill Winston meticulously details throughout this book how the two work together. In God's kingdom, you are either a king or a priest. Kings are marketplace ministers who serve in government, business, education, media, the family, and arts and entertainment. Priests are those who serve as an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, or teacher, or what is commonly referred to as the five-fold ministry. Through a multitude of scriptures, his own life story, and the engaging stories of others, Bill Winston explains why God is calling for the restoration of the unbeatable team of kings and priests to bring faith back into the marketplace, and to advance His kingdom around the world. Bill Winston has served as both a king (in the military and business world) and now a priest, and has been graced by God to reach this topic of faith and the marketplace like no one else.

Book Holy Men of God

Download or read book Holy Men of God written by Theodore Sabo and published by . This book was released on 2021-11-30 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Holy Men of God is a history of the kings, priests, and monks of Eastern Orthodoxy, an intriguing subject especially for Western readers. It focuses on the violent and luxuriant worlds of Byzantium and medieval Russia, taking its readers from the Iconoclastic crisis, the last church fathers, the Bogomil heretics, the God-intoxicated Hesychasts, and the flowering of Russian saints under the Mongol yoke, to the quarrel between the Possessors and the Non-Possessors, the bizarre persecution of the Old Believers, the twilight of the Ottoman Empire, the spiritual classic The Way of a Pilgrim, and the death on a Greek peninsula of the solitary monk Silouan. Central to its plot are the quarrelsome figure Symeon the New Theologian and the final schism between the Eastern and Western churches in AD 1054. Throughout the book the quiet sanctity of the Eastern church is contrasted with the neurosis and sadism of the Russian and Byzantine monarchs. This interplay helps the reader better appreciate the strength and resilience of a church that has been repeatedly exposed to chaos and catastrophe up to the present day"--
