Book excerpt: "This is a book about how technology has affected the music industry through a series of disruptions that have taken place ten times over the past century. Whenever technological innovations result in a compelling new way to distribute music to the public, the music industry changes in myriad and fundamental ways to adjust to the new format. And while the technologies themselves have evolved over the decades, the changes within the business follow a distinct pattern. Key Changes describes this pattern: it defines an analytical structure, the 6C Framework, that explains how the music business transformed in each era. The ten disruptions are the formats for distributing recorded music: phonograph records, radio, LPs, tapes, CDs, television, digital downloads, streaming, and streaming video; and then into the future with voice response and AI technologies, where the changes are in progress now. Each of these has a chapter in the book. The book concludes with an examination of how the 6C Framework applies across the timeline of various music formats, as well as to technologically induced changes in other industries, ranging from movies to sports to coffee, and it offers some observations about how blockchain technology could be the source of the next set of disruptive innovations in the music industry"--

Book 27 Key Changes Introduced in New ITR Forms Applicable for AY 2023 24

Download or read book 27 Key Changes Introduced in New ITR Forms Applicable for AY 2023 24 written by Taxmann and published by Taxmann Publications Private Limited. This book was released on 2023-02-17 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The CBDT has released new Income-tax Return (ITR) Forms for the Assessment Year 2023-24 vide Notification No. 04/2023, dated 10-02-2022, and Notification No. 05/2022, dated 14-02-2023. The CBDT said that to facilitate the taxpayers and ease of filing, no significant changes have been made to the ITR Forms compared to last year’s. Only the bare minimum changes necessitated due to amendments in the Income-tax Act 1961 have been made. The applicability of the ITR forms for different taxpayers remains unchanged, and small taxpayers can still use the simple ITR forms (ITR 1 and ITR 4) without any additional conditions. However, ITR-1 can’t be filed by an individual who is otherwise not liable to file but has to file because of depositing more than Rs. 1 crore in one or more current accounts. Taxmann’s Advisory & Research Team has thoroughly analysed new ITR Forms (ITR 1 to 7) and highlighted all key changes and new requirements in current ITR forms viz-a-viz last year’s ITR Forms.

As the author explains, learner-centered teaching focuses attention on what the student is learning, how the student is learning, the conditions under which the student is learning, whether the student is retaining and applying the learning, and how current learning positions the student for future learning. To help educators accomplish the goals of learner-centered teaching, this important book presents the meaning, practice, and ramifications of the learner-centered approach, and how this approach transforms the college classroom environment. Learner-Centered Teaching shows how to tie teaching and curriculum to the process and objectives of learning rather than to the content delivery alone.

Book Predicting the Next President

Download or read book Predicting the Next President written by Allan J. Lichtman and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2024-07-01 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the days after Donald Trump’s unexpected victory on election night 2016, The New York Times, CNN, and other leading media outlets reached out to one of the few pundits who had correctly predicted the outcome, Allan J. Lichtman. While many election forecasters base their findings exclusively on public opinion polls, Lichtman looks at the underlying fundamentals that have driven every presidential election since 1860. Using his 13 historical factors or “keys” (four political, seven performance, and two personality), Lichtman had been predicting Trump’s win since September 2016. In the updated 2024 edition, he applies the keys to every presidential election since 1860 and shows readers the current state of the 2024 race. In doing so, he dispels much of the mystery behind electoral politics and challenges many traditional assumptions. An indispensable resource for political junkies!

Book Key Themes in Qualitative Research

Download or read book Key Themes in Qualitative Research written by Paul Atkinson and published by Rowman Altamira. This book was released on 2004-01-01 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Key Themes in Qualitative Research is an attempt by three well-respected ethnographic researchers to present a balanced view of qualitative methodology and research. The book is structured around classic texts, written by methodological pioneers, which comprise the basic foundation of modern qualitative research. The authors examine key premises in these texts, such as intimacy, advocacy, and validity, and how they may be supported, redesigned, or made problematic in today's field. This allows for a critical analysis of Old Guard vs. Avant-Garde ideas and provides for the reader a guide to wade through the proliferation of texts and theories available since the postmodern turn. While not designed as a primer in qualitative research methods, anyone with modest experience in the field should find this book extremely useful.
