A story that had to be told. An incredible read that will keep you on the edge of your seat!” - Country Music Star Deborah Allen In 1989, country newcomer Sammy Sadler had already charted several critically-acclaimed singles and was ready to release his first album when he was shot during the assassination of then Cash Box chart-manager, Kevin Hughes, an incident known around the world as the “Murder on Music Row.” The police had no suspects, and even though Sammy suffered a nearly fatal bullet wound, the officers kept him under suspicion during the 13-year investigation. Eventually, the investigation would reveal an elaborate web of corruption, chart-rigging and payola, a clear motive and suspect for the murder. An ending that rocked the music industry for many years to come. In this first-hand account, Sadler recounts his personal and sensational journey from wide-eyed, promising, Top-40 newcomer to “person of interest” and survivor of one of the most infamous killings in the music business. From his struggle to recover from his nearly-fatal injuries to the turmoil endured during the 13-year career-throttling investigation, this autobiographical account is a demonstration of his faith and his resilient passion for music that would allow him to move forward and continue to pursue his dreams. Download or read book Sparks Fly Upward written by Kenneth Matthews Ph D and published by . This book was released on 2018-02-28 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you, or anyone you know, has suffered pain or loss, or has ever simply wondered how a merciful and omnipotent God can allow such tragedies, Matthews' book offers a unique perspective on this age-old question. Matthews takes a very different approach than other well-known authors on this subject such as Kushner's When Bad Things Happen to Good People, or C. S. Lewis' The Problem of Pain. After suffering his own tragic loss at a young age and watching many others around him suffer, Matthews argues that while God is firmly in control, he neither inflicts nor uses pain as part of his plan for us. Covering topics such as prayer, miracles, comfort, and universal providence, he discusses the problem of pain from a personal perspective that both explains suffering and supports other aspects of Christian life and thought.

We are in the midst of one of humankind's great cultural changes. How has this happened? Becoming Atheist explores how people of the sixties' generation have come to live their lives as if there is no God. It tells the life narratives of those from Britain, Western Europe, the United States and Canada who came from Christian, Jewish and other backgrounds to be without faith. Based on interviews with 85 people born in 18 countries, Callum Brown shows how gender, ethnicity and childhood shape how individuals lose religion. This book moves from statistical and broad cultural analysis to use frank, humorous and sometimes harrowing personal testimony. Becoming Atheist exposes people's role in renegotiating their own identities, and fashioning a secular and humanist culture for the Western world.
