Book The Clothier Natural Jumping Method

Download or read book The Clothier Natural Jumping Method written by Suzanne Clothier and published by . This book was released on 1990 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The original, proven system for teaching dogs to jump safely & correctly -naturally! In use since 1989, this method was developed to help canine athletes meet the incredible demands of agility. Used to successfully train thousands of dogs across the country, and is recommended by trainers, handlers, obedience & agility judges. Ideal for starting a novice dog, this method has helped countless dogs overcome their jumping problems and go on to achieve or finish advanced titles. Though often imitated, this is the only method that systematically develops and refines the complex skills every dog needs to be a confident, correct jumper. A 16 week program takes the dog from the basics to advanced jumping skills such as long & short striding, bounces, irregular distances, diagonal approaches and more. Emphasis is placed on proper conditioning - physical and mental - and the development of proper jumping style to minimize the risk of injury or the long term effects of incorrect jumping form. Originally designed for the agility dog, this method is also perfect for teaching the skills your dog needs in the obedience or Schutzhund ring.

He’s finished his swimming lessons and passed his swim test, and he’s a great jumper, so he’s not scared at all. “Looks easy,” says Jabari, watching the other kids take their turns. But when his dad squeezes his hand, Jabari squeezes back. He needs to figure out what kind of special jump to do anyway, and he should probably do some stretches before climbing up onto the diving board. In a sweetly appealing tale of overcoming your fears, newcomer Gaia Cornwall captures a moment between a patient and encouraging father and a determined little boy you can’t help but root for.

Book Jumping the Color Line

Download or read book Jumping the Color Line written by Susie Trenka and published by Indiana University Press. This book was released on 2021-02-02 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the first synchronized sound films of the late 1920s through the end of World War II, African American music and dance styles were ubiquitous in films. Black performers, however, were marginalized, mostly limited to appearing in "specialty acts" and various types of short films, whereas stardom was reserved for Whites. Jumping the Color Line discusses vernacular jazz dance in film as a focal point of American race relations. Looking at intersections of race, gender, and class, the book examines how the racialized and gendered body in film performs, challenges, and negotiates identities and stereotypes. Arguing for the transformative and subversive potential of jazz dance performance onscreen, the six chapters address a variety of films and performers, including many that have received little attention to date. Topics include Hollywood's first Black female star (Nina Mae McKinney), male tap dance "class acts" in Black-cast short films of the early 1930s, the film career of Black tap soloist Jeni LeGon, the role of dance in the Soundies jukebox shorts of the 1940s, cinematic images of the Lindy hop, and a series of teen films from the early 1940s that appealed primarily to young White fans of swing culture. With a majority of examples taken from marginal film forms, such as shorts and B movies, the book highlights their role in disseminating alternative images of racial and gender identities as embodied by dancers – images that were at least partly at odds with those typically found in major Hollywood productions.

Book Multi model Jumping Systems Robust Filtering and Fault Detection

Download or read book Multi model Jumping Systems Robust Filtering and Fault Detection written by Shuping He and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-03-01 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book focuses on multi-model systems, describing how to apply intelligent technologies to model complex multi-model systems by combining stochastic jumping system, neural network and fuzzy models. It focuses on robust filtering, including finite-time robust filtering, finite-frequency robust filtering and higher order moment robust filtering schemes, as well as fault detection problems for multi-model jump systems, such as observer-based robust fault detection, filtering-based robust fault detection and neural network-based robust fault detection methods. The book also demonstrates the validity and practicability of the theoretical results using simulation and practical examples, like circuit systems, robot systems and power systems. Further, it introduces readers to methods such as finite-time filtering, finite-frequency robust filtering, as well as higher order moment and neural network-based fault detection methods for multi-model jumping systems, allowing them to grasp the modeling, analysis and design of the multi-model systems presented and implement filtering and fault detection analysis for various systems, including circuit, network and mechanical systems.
