Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Vikrant Pande and Neelesh Kulkarni's quest to retrace the trail of Rama's fabled travels during his years in exile began with their trying to locate Chitrakoot on the map and realizing that they had little idea where it might be. Curious about the places mentioned in the Ramayana, they set off on a journey of their own, following Rama's route from Ayodhya to the Dandakaranya forest and Panchavati (near Nashik) and on to Kishkindhya (close to Hampi), Rameshwaram and Sri Lanka. Along the way they would discover how closely the narrative of the Ramayana is linked to local folklore, and how the stories of the Ramayana and the moral framework that binds them together still speaks to the people who live in the land across which Rama, Sita and Lakshman made their journey. For the armchair traveller as well as the enthusiast for epic tales, this is a wonderful book with which to revisit the world of the Ramayana.

Book Ramayana The Game of Life Think Big to Win Book 6

This book was released on 2021-11-19 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE RAMAYANA IS NOT A STORY. IT IS A WAY OF LIFE. IT IS THE GAME OF LIFE. How one responds to difficult situations when faced with challenges determines the outcome. The ability of Rama’s army of vanaras to envision building the bridge from the mainland to Lanka to rescue Sita is one of the many lessons on faith. Here are some invaluable lessons on overcoming obstacles. Think big. The tiny squirrels contributed in their small ways to build the mammoth bridge to Lanka. Aim high. Sugriva, leading a vanara army, dared to win a war without any armor or training against a sophisticated demon army. Recognise opportunities and adapt. Hanuman could expand his size or contract, focusing on his goal to serve Rama. Are you thinking big to succeed in life? THINK BIG TO WIN is the sixth book in Ramayana: The Game of Life series. A modern retelling of the Yuddha Kanda of Valmiki’s epic, this book highlights the efforts of the various characters who irrespective of their size, stature or abilities, succeeded in helping Rama rescue Sita from Lanka. Teeming with lessons in self-belief and daring to take up tasks which may seem beyond your capacity and accomplishing them, the book evokes progressive attitudes to help you overcome self-perceived limitations and achieve your dreams.

Book Exiled from Ayodhya A Journey in Search of Ramayana

Download or read book Exiled from Ayodhya A Journey in Search of Ramayana written by Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay and published by BEE Books. This book was released on 2020-11-30 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “As the saying goes, the Ram was gone and so was his Ayodhya; I knew this only too well. Sita was underground; Lakshman, ostracized; Ramchandra’s youthful frame had long been borne away by the Sarayu. And the irresistible steamroller of time had pulverized the magnificent capital of the Koshals to dust. The modern town, 90 miles long and 36 miles wide, was nothing like the one described in The Ramayana. Maybe the ruins of the kingdom of Ayodhya were still buried somewhere under millions of tons of soil. Then where had this Ayodhya turned up from—this janmabhumi, Kaushalya Bhavan, Kaikeyi’s chambers? Or Raja Dasharath’s Durbar or Kanak Bhavan, for that matter? Were all of these only for show? Made to order? Archaeologists had still not been able to find the original Ayodhya, but that made no difference—there were realistic reasons for which it was necessary to prop up another Ayodhya. A legend was required, and whenever there is a need for one, it is King Vikramaditya with his scent of mythology who is summoned from the shadows of history.”

Book Sita s Ramayana

Download or read book Sita s Ramayana written by Samhita Arni and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Ramayana is an epic poem by the Hindu sage Valmiki, written in ancient Sanskrit sometime after 300 BC. It is an allegorical story that contains important Hindu teachings, and it has had great influence on Indian life and culture over the centuries. Children are often encouraged to emulate the virtues of the two main characters -- Rama and Sita. The Ramayana is frequently performed as theater or dance, and two Indian festivals -- Dussehra and Divali -- celebrate events in the story. This version of The Ramayana is told from the perspective of Sita, the queen. After she, her husband Rama and his brother are exiled from their kingdom, Sita is captured by the proud and arrogant king Ravana and imprisoned in a garden across the ocean. Ravana never stops trying to convince Sita to be his wife, but she steadfastly refuses his advances. Eventually Rama comes to her rescue with the help of the monkey Hanuman and his army. But Rama feels he can't trust Sita again. He forces Sita to undergo an ordeal by fire to prove herself to be true and pure. She is shocked and in grief and anger does so. She emerges unscathed and they return home to their kingdom as king and queen. However, suspicion haunts their relationship, and Sita once more finds herself in the forest, but this time she is pregnant. She has twins and continues to live in the forest with them. The story is exciting and dramatic, with many turns of plot. Magic animals, snakes, divine gods, demons, sorcerers and a vast cast of characters all play a part in the fierce battles fought to win Sita back. And in the process the story explores ideas of right vs. wrong, compassion, loyalty, trust, honor and the terrible price of war.

Book excerpt: Discover the Ramayana - one of India's most celebrated epics, and a story that transcends time itself. The tale of Rama, the exiled prince of Ayodhya who battles the evil Ravana, the king of Lanka, and rescues his abducted wife, Sita, is about much more than the eternal battle of good versus evil. It is a tale of love, friendship, loyalty, devotion, righteousness, and deliverance. Ramayana and Rama, whose journey is told in the epic, are embedded in India's cultural consciousness, but at the same time they transcend borders. Various versions of the Ramayana can be found across the Indian subcontinent and in parts of southeast Asia. Created in consultation with distinguished economist, scholar, and translator, Dr Bibek Debroy, The Illustrated Ramayana draws from one of its earliest composers, the celebrated sage and poet Valmiki. It uses a combination of text and stunning images drawn from a variety of sources - from historic and contemporary artefacts, paintings, photographs, and performances - to tell Rama's story, as he walks the path that destiny creates for him.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Part VII: Uttar Kand This is the seventh and concluding part of this sacred epic as narrated by Shri Tulasi Das and interpreted by this author. The verses are referred to by their numbers as per the Ram Charit Manas book published by Geeta Press, Gorakhpur. They should be referred to for context and to build an understanding of the original text as it is and this humble interpretation by Author should be just considered an individualistic imagination and effort to understand and feel the devotion towards Lord Ram. Author has tried to explain the verses as they are, wherever possible, and then expanded with creative freedom on what could be the symbolism and analogies the verses that can be derived from. Whatever is derived, or expressed in parallel symbolism or analogies, thus express the Author's individual opinion and imagination. Author has also tried to interpret the tale in an original manner ( in context of the deriving the parallelism, using the parallelisms, symbolisms and analogies and in providing examples) in addition to what has already been written by Shri Tulasi Das as elucidated in Hindi commentary provided by Shri Hanuman Prasad Poddar for each verse. Author has leveraged the verses, and their sequence and corresponding chapters or Kand as they are referred to by Shri Tulasi Das to structure his own interpretations of symbolisms that may exist or can be derived, however they should be taken as creative liberties to expand on, while preserving the original intention of the sacred tale.
