Book excerpt: Dangerous thieves lurk in the great outdoors. Hold on to your heart… Tomboy Mungo Caimbeulach seeks her father’s love. Unfortunately, she’s an unwanted imposition rather than a valuable daughter. When the coos she has raised from young are sold without her permission, she’s determined to retrieve them in the time-honored Scothage tradition. She’ll steal her coos, impress her father with this courageous endeavor and prove she’s worthy of his affection. Shapeshifter Joe Mitchell dreams of raising cattle as he did on Earth, and purchasing his foundation herd is the first step. But color him shocked when the thief who steals from him is his mate—according to his feline half. Decisive, he follows in the footsteps of his brothers and captures Mungo. Now his plan is two-fold. Seduction of his feisty mate and safe passage for his cattle. Easier said than done when danger pounces from left and right during their journey home. Mungo isn’t sure what to make of this cat-man with his propensity for stripping naked. Bossy—yes! But she can’t stop sneaking peeks and then there is the kissing and caressing… Contains two strong characters with opposite goals, passion in the great outdoors, and more annoying dangers impeding their romance than Joe cares to mention!

Book Joe Moakley s Journey

Download or read book Joe Moakley s Journey written by Mark Robert Schneider and published by UPNE. This book was released on 2013 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In November 1989 in El Salvador, six Jesuit priests and their two female housekeepers were rousted from their beds and shot as they lay face down on the ground. At first, the George H. W. Bush administration echoed the Salvadoran military's line that the rebels must have done it. When House Speaker Tom Foley tasked a senior congressman with investigating the murders, the people of El Salvador found an unlikely champion in the person of John Joseph Moakley, representative from South Boston. In Joe Moakley's Journey, Mark Robert Schneider charts one of the most unusual transformations in American politics. A native son of South Boston, Moakley was an effective and influential House member, whose greatest influence and legacy is, paradoxically, far from home in the fields of El Salvador and Central America. Though firmly, fiercely grounded in his hometown of South Boston--he never lived anywhere else--from the beginning of this investigation until his death in 2001, issues of Central American justice, peace, and economic development became Joe Moakley's cause.

Book excerpt: A manifesto-guidebook to one of the American South's most astounding art environments In the summer of 1989, Joe Minter had a vision from God to create art that would honor the shared experiences of African Americans in this country. From that moment, Minter began building a sprawling collection of sculpture and installation works on land adjacent to both his home and the Shadow Lawn Memorial Gardens, a historically black cemetery, in the Woodland Park neighborhood of Birmingham. The result is a continuously evolving art environment that recounts both immediately local and world events that have affected humanity, with a focus on the contributions and tribulations of African Americans. Thousands of visitors from all over the world have visited his yard environment, and Minter's sculptures are now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and many other museums nationwide. On the 30th anniversary of his vision, Institute 193 and Tinwood have reissued To You Through Me: The Beginning of a Link of a Journey of 400 Years, Minter's 2004 self-published creative manifesto and didactic field guide to the African Village in America yard show. Book Joe s Journey

Download or read book Joe s Journey written by Marilyn Reilly and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2021-08-28 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is an inspiration of a real character that I use to see when I was a young girl, he roams around the county this was an exceptionally long time ago, but the story is not about his life, it is a fiction from the inspiration of him. The story starts on a normal life that eventually leads to a disaster that causes Joe to turn his back on his old life. He woke up in the most wonderful spirits of the day, the sun was glorious, he was so happy but as the day went on it turned into a nightmare, he started the day making planes for the future and now he was in fear and anguish in the cloud of uncertainty not knowing what the future held for him. So, the day continued in darkness, what would come next? he closes the door on the past he says goodbye to his friends although he did not have a lot of friends, not knowing which way he will turn, the first part of the journey is not pleasant, but on his journey. He meets up with a little friend, his little friend is in the same situation as Joe, so he has now met a little friend in need of his help. They continue the journey together both not knowing where they will end up, there are a few problems along the way, but they struggle on together. Joe eventually decides, so they head to their destination with great difficulty along the way, they eventually end up in safe hand, they get help and make newer friend, and somewhere to stay but not without a bad turn on their journey. It was not an easy path, but they end up safe in the end. There is a chance meeting, or should I say a very unusual meeting with an embarrassing situation that brings a lot of happiness to Joe's life, and life for him and his little friend. Joe and Patch lives get better by the day, and there is a turning point in their lives not one that usually happens to everyone and their lives go from better to great, Joe discovers he has family but he has to travel to see them and that is a great adventure for him, his other friend is Molly and she is a real character, she makes the decision to go with Joe so they both go together, but Molly has her own ideas about what she wants to do, when they get there Joe enjoys his stay with his family, but Molly goes to visit her friend and cousin then explores America. It is a very unusual holiday for Molly not one she was expecting, she is a person that has no family to worry about so she just ups and goes any were she desires, but this holiday was a revelation for her, will she ever want to go away again? Toward the end Joe is getting older so is Patch. Joe has a lot of health problems, and he leads a noticeably quiet life with Patch, he has an incredibly good friend but misses Molly very much. There are a few twists and turns, I have tried to make it more exciting further on into the story. Molly is a bit of a character, although she has never had children she is not a lonely person, she was a very intelligent child, that when she got older she had a very good job as a school teacher and she had lots of friend too so she was always occupied, she retired at an early age and always wanted to travel and the opportunity come along when she met Joe to go to America. Joe and Molly become exceptionally good friends throughout the book. Joe was a quit man with just the simple thing in life that mattered to him, but Molly was an extremely ambitious sort of a person that if she wanted to do something no one on earth would stand in her way, I have grown to like Molly very much in this story.
