Download or read book Recursive Identification and Parameter Estimation written by Han-Fu Chen and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2014-06-23 with total page 431 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recursive Identification and Parameter Estimation describes a recursive approach to solving system identification and parameter estimation problems arising from diverse areas. Supplying rigorous theoretical analysis, it presents the material and proposed algorithms in a manner that makes it easy to understand—providing readers with the modeling and identification skills required for successful theoretical research and effective application. The book begins by introducing the basic concepts of probability theory, including martingales, martingale difference sequences, Markov chains, mixing processes, and stationary processes. Next, it discusses the root-seeking problem for functions, starting with the classic RM algorithm, but with attention mainly paid to the stochastic approximation algorithms with expanding truncations (SAAWET) which serves as the basic tool for recursively solving the problems addressed in the book. The book not only identifies the results of system identification and parameter estimation, but also demonstrates how to apply the proposed approaches for addressing problems in a range of areas, including: Identification of ARMAX systems without imposing restrictive conditions Identification of typical nonlinear systems Optimal adaptive tracking Consensus of multi-agents systems Principal component analysis Distributed randomized PageRank computation This book recursively identifies autoregressive and moving average with exogenous input (ARMAX) and discusses the identification of non-linear systems. It concludes by addressing the problems arising from different areas that are solved by SAAWET. Demonstrating how to apply the proposed approaches to solve problems across a range of areas, the book is suitable for students, researchers, and engineers working in systems and control, signal processing, communication, and mathematical statistics.
Download or read book Systems Science written by Yi Lin and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2012-11-26 with total page 403 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: By making use of the principles of systems science, the scientific community can explain many complicated matters of the world and shed new light on unsettled problems. Each real science has its own particular methodology for not only qualitative but also quantitative analyses, so it is important to understand the organic whole of systems research with operable mathematical methods. Systems Science: Methodological Approaches presents a mathematical explanation of systems science, giving readers a complete technical formulation of different systemic laws. It enables them to use a unified methodology to attack different problems that are hard, if not impossible, for modern science to handle. Following a brief history of systems science, the book explores: Basic concepts, characteristics, properties, and classifications of general systems Nonlinear systems dynamics and the theory of catastrophe Dissipative structures and synergistics Studies of chaos, including logistic mapping, phase space reconstruction, Lyapunov exponents, and chaos of general single relation systems Different aspects and concepts of fractals, including a presentation of L systems analysis and design Complex systems and complexity, with a discussion of how the phenomena of "three" and complexity are related, and how various cellular automata can be constructed to generate useful simulations and figurative patterns Complex adaptive systems and open complex giant systems, with introduction of the yoyo model and practical applications Complex networks and related concepts and methods The book concludes with several case studies that demonstrate how various concepts and the logic of systems can be practically applied to resolve real-life problems, such as the prediction of natural disasters. The book will be useful in directing future research and applications of systems science on a commonly accepted platform and playground.

The development or breakthrough of management theory is accompanied by the development and progress of science and technology, and the level of science and technology and the level of management theory in each historical period are mutually adaptive, and it can be said that the progress of science and technology plays an important role in promoting the development of management. At the same time, the rapid development and progress of science and technology give a strong injection to the development of engineering, and provide the possibility for engineering construction can use new technology, new equipment, new technology and new materials. Modern management is an important development direction of management science nowadays. And the use of modern management in engineering has an important role in saving social costs, ensuring project quality, and improving safety awareness and behavior ICMSEM 2022, in contrast to the previous two conferences, will focus its discussions on modern management, talking about the benefits that modernization brings to engineering and: Develop and advance management science through the study and application of certain issues To open up new perspectives in the sharing of speakers and inspire the audience to new ways of managing in engineering. To create a forum for sharing, research and exchange at the international level, so that the participants can be informed of the latest research directions, results and contents of management science, which will inspire them to new ideas for research and practice. Papers on management science and engineering management will be accepted and published in the form of conference proceedings for those who cannot attend the conference.

This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 522 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fields of integer programming and combinatorial optimization continue to be areas of great vitality, with an ever increasing number of publications and journals appearing. A classified bibliography thus continues to be necessary and useful today, even more so than it did when the project, of which this is the fifth volume, was started in 1970 in the Institut fur Okonometrie und Operations Research of the University of Bonn. The pioneering first volume was compiled by Claus Kastning during the years 1970 - 1975 and appeared in 1976 as Volume 128 of the series Lecture Notes in Economics and Mathematical Systems published by the Springer Verlag. Work on the project was continued by Dirk Hausmann, Reinhardt Euler, and Rabe von Randow, and resulted in the publication of the second, third, and fourth volumes in 1978, 1982, and 1985 (Volumes 160, 197, and 243 of the above series). The present book constitutes the fifth volume of the bibliography and covers the period from autumn 1984 to the end of 1987. It contains 5864 new publications by 4480 authors and was compiled by Rabe von Randow. Its form is practically identical to that of the first four volumes, some additions having been made to the subject list.

Download or read book Nonlinear Programming and Variational Inequality Problems written by Michael Patriksson and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 343 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since I started working in the area of nonlinear programming and, later on, variational inequality problems, I have frequently been surprised to find that many algorithms, however scattered in numerous journals, monographs and books, and described rather differently, are closely related to each other. This book is meant to help the reader understand and relate algorithms to each other in some intuitive fashion, and represents, in this respect, a consolidation of the field. The framework of algorithms presented in this book is called Cost Approxi mation. (The preface of the Ph.D. thesis [Pat93d] explains the background to the work that lead to the thesis, and ultimately to this book.) It describes, for a given formulation of a variational inequality or nonlinear programming problem, an algorithm by means of approximating mappings and problems, a principle for the update of the iteration points, and a merit function which guides and monitors the convergence of the algorithm. One purpose of this book is to offer this framework as an intuitively appeal ing tool for describing an algorithm. One of the advantages of the framework, or any reasonable framework for that matter, is that two algorithms may be easily related and compared through its use. This framework is particular in that it covers a vast number of methods, while still being fairly detailed; the level of abstraction is in fact the same as that of the original problem statement.
