    Book Details:
  • Author : Hans Triebel
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 1992-04-02
  • ISBN : 9783764326395
  • Pages : 388 pages

Download or read book Theory of Function Spaces II written by Hans Triebel and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1992-04-02 with total page 388 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Theory of Function Spaces II deals with the theory of function spaces of type Bspq and Fspq as it stands at the present. These two scales of spaces cover many well-known function spaces such as Hölder-Zygmund spaces, (fractional) Sobolev spaces, Besov spaces, inhomogeneous Hardy spaces, spaces of BMO-type and local approximation spaces which are closely connected with Morrey-Campanato spaces. Theory of Function Spaces II is self-contained, although it may be considered an update of the author’s earlier book of the same title. The book’s 7 chapters start with a historical survey of the subject, and then analyze the theory of function spaces in Rn and in domains, applications to (exotic) pseudo-differential operators, and function spaces on Riemannian manifolds. ------ Reviews The first chapter deserves special attention. This chapter is both an outstanding historical survey of function spaces treated in the book and a remarkable survey of rather different techniques developed in the last 50 years. It is shown that all these apparently different methods are only different ways of characterizing the same classes of functions. The book can be best recommended to researchers and advanced students working on functional analysis. - Zentralblatt MATH

Book Function Spaces 1

    Book Details:
  • Author : Luboš Pick
  • Publisher : Walter de Gruyter
  • Release : 2012-12-19
  • ISBN : 311025042X
  • Pages : 495 pages

Download or read book Function Spaces 1 written by Luboš Pick and published by Walter de Gruyter. This book was released on 2012-12-19 with total page 495 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first part of the second revised and extended edition of the well established book "Function Spaces" by Alois Kufner, Oldřich John, and Svatopluk Fučík. Like the first edition this monograph is an introduction to function spaces defined in terms of differentiability and integrability classes. It provides a catalogue of various spaces and benefits as a handbook for those who use function spaces in their research or lecture courses. This first volume is devoted to the study of function spaces, based on intrinsic properties of a function such as its size, continuity, smoothness, various forms of a control over the mean oscillation, and so on. The second volume will be dedicated to the study of function spaces of Sobolev type, in which the key notion is the weak derivative of a function of several variables.

Book Spaces of Fundamental and Generalized Functions

Download or read book Spaces of Fundamental and Generalized Functions written by I. M. Gel'Fand and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2013-09-03 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spaces of Fundamental and Generalized Functions, Volume 2, analyzes the general theory of linear topological spaces. The basis of the theory of generalized functions is the theory of the so-called countably normed spaces (with compatible norms), their unions (inductive limits), and also of the spaces conjugate to the countably normed ones or their unions. This set of spaces is sufficiently broad on the one hand, and sufficiently convenient for the analyst on the other. The book opens with a chapter that discusses the theory of these spaces. This is followed by separate chapters on fundamental and generalized functions, Fourier transformations of fundamental and generalized functions, and spaces of type S.

Book Function Spaces Theory and Applications

Download or read book Function Spaces Theory and Applications written by Ilia Binder and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2024-01-12 with total page 487 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The focus program on Analytic Function Spaces and their Applications took place at Fields Institute from July 1st to December 31st, 2021. Hilbert spaces of analytic functions form one of the pillars of complex analysis. These spaces have a rich structure and for more than a century have been studied by many prominent mathematicians. They also have several essential applications in other fields of mathematics and engineering, e.g., robust control engineering, signal and image processing, and theory of communication. The most important Hilbert space of analytic functions is the Hardy class H2. However, its close cousins, e.g. the Bergman space A2, the Dirichlet space D, the model subspaces Kt, and the de Branges-Rovnyak spaces H(b), have also been the center of attention in the past two decades. Studying the Hilbert spaces of analytic functions and the operators acting on them, as well as their applications in other parts of mathematics or engineering were the main subjects of this program. During the program, the world leading experts on function spaces gathered and discussed the new achievements and future venues of research on analytic function spaces, their operators, and their applications in other domains. With more than 250 hours of lectures by prominent mathematicians, a wide variety of topics were covered. More explicitly, there were mini-courses and workshops on Hardy Spaces, Dirichlet Spaces, Bergman Spaces, Model Spaces, Interpolation and Sampling, Riesz Bases, Frames and Signal Processing, Bounded Mean Oscillation, de Branges-Rovnyak Spaces, Operators on Function Spaces, Truncated Toeplitz Operators, Blaschke Products and Inner Functions, Discrete and Continuous Semigroups of Composition Operators, The Corona Problem, Non-commutative Function Theory, Drury-Arveson Space, and Convergence of Scattering Data and Non-linear Fourier Transform. At the end of each week, there was a high profile colloquium talk on the current topic. The program also contained two semester-long advanced courses on Schramm Loewner Evolution and Lattice Models and Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Space of Analytic Functions. The current volume features a more detailed version of some of the talks presented during the program.

This book was released on 2006-10-11 with total page 401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This encyclopedic work covers the whole area of Partial Differential Equations - of the elliptic, parabolic, and hyperbolic type - in two and several variables. Emphasis is placed on the connection of PDEs and complex variable methods. This second volume addresses Solvability of operator equations in Banach spaces; Linear operators in Hilbert spaces and spectral theory; Schauder's theory of linear elliptic differential equations; Weak solutions of differential equations; Nonlinear partial differential equations and characteristics; Nonlinear elliptic systems with differential-geometric applications. While partial differential equations are solved via integral representations in the preceding volume, this volume uses functional analytic solution methods.
