Yet they learn instead she has broken the Onchei’s highest law: never intermarry or have children with another race. For this, she now faces execution. Jordan SnowFire fears the Onchei will blame the Mokta and seek retribution soon. Only an ancient heirloom, which contains the ultimate Onchei knowledge, can save the Mokta...except it's on Earth, a world she hasn't seen in decades. Jordan sends her son, Arrow, and her friend's daughter, Maska, to rescue Zeetra while she travels back to Earth to seek the Onchei artifact. What tie is there between a thousand-year-old object and Jordan's ancestors? Could this explain why she and her mother were originally abducted and brought to Algoran? In the skies of Algoran, a final confrontation looms between the Onchei and the Mokta. And on Earth, Jordan finds more than she could have possibly imagined...

Book Echoes of Scripture in the Letter of Paul to the Colossians

Download or read book Echoes of Scripture in the Letter of Paul to the Colossians written by Christopher A. Beetham and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2009-01-31 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While the use of the Old Testament in the New Testament has captured the attention of biblical scholars over the years, no study has been devoted to the presence of Scripture in Colossians, largely because there are no explicit quotations in Colossians. With the introduction of literary intertextuality into the discipline, however, scholars have begun to devote more attention to the NT authors’ less explicit references to Scripture, often labelled as ‘allusions’ and/or ‘echoes.’ Scholars, however, continue to debate what constitutes an allusion or echo, or how one validates a given proposal as such. This study proposes new definitions of these terms and offers a methodology on how to detect and validate them, using Colossians as a test case.

Book excerpt: When it comes to Bible translations, readability and reliability are what count; and on both counts, the original JERUSALEM BIBLE stands alone. A product of the age of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965), THE JERUSALEM BIBLE (published in 1966) was the first truly modern Bible for Catholics. Using definitive original language texts such as the Dead Sea Scrolls, biblical scholars of L'École Biblique in Jerusalem produced a meticulously accurate, wonderfully readable French translation of the complete canon of Scripture (La Bible de Jérusalem). From this French original came the English edition, edited by renowned Bible scholar Alexander Jones. For all the people around the world who are discovering or revisiting the mysteries contained in the Scriptures, only a clear, understandable Bible translation will do. With language as exquisite but more modern than the King James Version, THE JERUSALEM BIBLE is the one they can trust.

Book Breaking Free from Demonic Forces

Download or read book Breaking Free from Demonic Forces written by Julia Shalom Jordan and published by . This book was released on 2011-11 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: JULIA JORDAN has taken her personal experience of demonic possession and developed a 'how to' guide for helping people that are in search of clearing their lives from demonic entities. She shares her personal story and equips the reader with Bible-backed advise for what worked for her complete deliverance. She is not a demonologist or exorcist. Julia was possessed with demons for an estimated fifteen years. She feels her years of suffering were a 'school in and of themselves.' She believes demonic possession is more common than America would like to admit. Her passion is to demystify and destroy this denial (along with the shroud of secrecy and shame that go with it.) Facing the facts and dealing with the reality of this worldwide issue can be the very thing that will motivate people to get the proper assistance and to help others. When life becomes hopeless and riddled with fear, there is no shame in searching for help. There is only complete despair when you do not receive it, and a life without hope is not a life spent wisely. Spiritual wellness is just as important as physical wellness, because a person is more than just a physical body. The human body contains the 'heart' of a person - the spirit and the soul. When the three elements of what make us human (spirit, soul and body) work together in harmony with God, that is a victorious life! Julia aspires that all people who are suffering from forces that seem too big for them to handle, simply turn to God and His practical instructions from the Bible for guidance. She prays that with this book, many will see that the answers to life's 'impossible' situations have a solution. For with God, anything is possible! Julia Jordan was born in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Northern Illinois University for two years, and is a licensed esthetician in Illinois. She currently enjoys assisting her husband with his wellness business: www.FearlessFitnessLTD.com, and enjoys speaking to teens about the hidden dangers of the occult.
