He married Sophia Murray 18 Nov. 1782 in Pittsylvania County. They had five sons and four daughters. He died in Cumberland County, Kentucky, 24 Mar. 1843. Descendants lived in Kentucky, Illinois, Iowa, Tennessee and elsewhere.
