Download or read book Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment in Relation to Absenteeism and Tardiness Among Employees of UCPI written by Pedro L. Lantin III and published by . This book was released on 2012 with total page 91 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The health care industry involved an intensive multidisciplinary labor sector. Specifically, the paramount aspects in all health organizations can be refelcted through job satisfaction and organizational commitment of their employees. Hence, the administrators of the Urology Center of the Philippines Incorporated (UCPI) catered to this belief. The researcher utilized a descriptive-correlational design through survey questionnaires on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The demographic profile revealed that the respondents were predominantly married female (58.8%) with ages ranging from 31 to 40 years old. Survey results revealed that most employees had moderately high frequency of absenteeism (18%) and tardiness (55%). Civil status and work hours were significantly related to absenteeism and tardiness. Low levels of job satisfaction and oraganizational commitment were correlated as well as absenteeism and tardiness to organizational commitment. However, most of the employees were satisfied in their job and were committed to the institution. Significant relationships were evident specifically to job satisfaction and demographic variables of educational attainment, length of service, work hours; and organizational commitment to length of service and work hours. The enhanced hospital administration policies formulated by the group discussants for the employees include orientation, interpersonal relationships, training and development as well as compensation and benefits.
