Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mead parachuted into Normandy on D-Day and fought his way to Germany, through some of the most brutal violence of World War II. But his most difficult battle was lost years later, when his beloved wife Sophie succumbed to cancer. Since then, he has waged a private war against both loneliness and the terrible memory of a day in 1945 that went horribly wrong-and has haunted him ever since. His grandson Andrew, a scared and angry high school sophomore, has been expelled and is heading down a path of self-destruction. Mead agrees to take the boy in for three weeks, to set him right. At first, the two circle warily around each other, finding little in common. Then Andrew befriends a widow named Evelyn, and Mead busies himself fending off the match, even as he feels a reluctant attraction to this cheerful woman who seems to understand his grandson. One afternoon, rummaging through the garage, Andrew discovers an antique Luger, the deadly memento of his grandfather's war. In a final effort to save his grandson from himself, Mead takes the teenager on a journey to the beaches, bunkers, and cemeteries of Normandy, where both of them confront the secrets they have been trying to forget.

Now she sends her acclaimed, irreverent heroine -- New Orleans writer Samantha Adams -- to a southwestern New Age hot spot, to unearth a secret past that was supposed to be six feet under. My dearest Sugar. I must see you. It's urgent. I need your help. The letter that arrived from Sam's mother was postmarked Santa Fe, penned in her mother's handwriting, and disclosed details only Johanna Adams could know. There was just one catch: Johanna Adams had been dead for thirty-four years. The mind-blowing missive could have been an entry from Sam's latest book of bizarre anecdotes, American Weird -- or an elaborate hoax. Either way, it instantly rekindled Sam's impossible wish that her mother hadn't really died in a plane crash when Sam was a child. Fueled by her journalistic instincts -- and a daughter's need for closure -- Sam touches down among Santa Fe's tourists and crystal gazers, jewelry shops and fast-food stands. But only when she summons the courage to knock on the door of Room 409 at the La Fonda Hotel does her surreal, mother-seeking adventure take off with no turning back.

It isnt monetary, but the debt keeps him under the thumb of a New York City organized-crime groupwith the safety of his family dependent on his success at doing their bidding. Over the years, the teachings of the criminal organization, as well as his own experiences, have developed Stefanos talents in many areas--including the use of weapons. But his abilities are a double-edged sword. His situation is even more complicated by the fact that he is a Catholic priest. When a violent crime is committed involving his sister-in-law, Stefano and his brother journey to the Florida Keys in search of retribution. With the area already a seething cauldron from race riots, violent dopers, and "Marielitos, adding them to the mix will be just the right ingredient to make the pot boil over. In Key West their dangerous quest thrusts the brothers into a complex, violent world of drug smugglers, murderers, and crooked cops. Still, a few heroes emerge to help them. And while everyone seems to have their own secrets and hidden agenda, Stefano finally gets the opportunity to use some of his abilities in a positive, personal way. But, when their interlude in the Keys has ended, it has only served to postpone Stefanos focus on his incessant dread: the family debt. Will he ever be free of it? Finally, he must return to New York City to confront it.

Book excerpt: In this parody of all-knowing capitalism, Frank Holmes survived the stock market crash of 2008 by parody, forming a rock and roll band called the Cherry. He is Odysseus in his parody of Homer and Joyce. It’s PG-13. Parallel to this plot is the story of a spy, Butch Lautsky . It’s a spy novel parody defending the FBI. Universal and evolutionary, the congress can be a lifeguard. Article I, section 10 of the US Constitutional Law is used to attempt to void state government regulations, not federal regulations. Article I of the constitutional law controls congress, not contracts and regulations, unless done right. Republicans like to void regulations, and democrats like to protect people with laws, just like in The Jungle. But this is only half of the story, worth many billions of dollars. Now it’s landlords and wall and state contractors. EPA 2015 voided federal regulations. This is the opposite of the 1960s On the Road. This is, at times, intimate. I have found a flaw in the constitution itself. Futher information are found in the website "http://www.waterinthebelly.com">www.waterinthebelly.com
