Book Spanish Made As Easy as 1 2 3

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you want to learn Spanish? Learn in a way that is even easier than the methods used by the most popular audio courses available today! This book was written by a non-native speaker who understands the difficulty of learning a language and this uses proven teaching techniques to help other people learn the language. Spanish Made As Easy As 1-2-3! heavily stresses the most difficult aspect of the language: verbs. It delves deep into grammar, yet makes boring, difficult grammar easy to understand and is full of charts, dialogues, and example sentences. It gives the reader a great starting command of the language. The book is neither intimidatingly long, nor is it so brief that quality of instruction is lost. It has just the right combination of brevity and quality instruction. This is a course that is specifically designed for someone who is serious about learning, but would like to do so as effortlessly and painlessly as possible.

Book From Viracocha to the Virgin of Copacabana

Download or read book From Viracocha to the Virgin of Copacabana written by Verónica Salles-Reese and published by University of Texas Press. This book was released on 2010-07-05 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Surrounded by the peaks of the Andean cordillera, the deep blue waters of Lake Titicaca have long provided refreshment and nourishment to the people who live along its shores. From prehistoric times, the Andean peoples have held Titicaca to be a sacred place, the source from which all life originated and the site where the divine manifests its presence. In this interdisciplinary study, Verónica Salles-Reese explores how Andean myths of cosmic and ethnic origins centered on Lake Titicaca evolved from pre-Inca times to the enthronement of the Virgin of Copacabana in 1583. She begins by describing the myths of the Kolla (pre-Inca) people and shows how their Inca conquerors attempted to establish legitimacy by reconciling their myths of cosmic and ethnic origin with the Kolla myths. She also shows how a similar pattern occurred when the Inca were conquered in turn by the Spanish. This research explains why Lake Titicaca continues to occupy a central place in Andean thought despite the major cultural disruptions that have characterized the region's history. This book will be a touchstone in the field of Colonial literature and an important reference for Andean religious and intellectual history.

Book Dependence Independence and Death

Download or read book Dependence Independence and Death written by William James and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2009 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dependence, Independence, and Death: Toward a Psychobiography of Delmira Agustini depicts the life of Uruguayan poet Delmira Agustini (1886-1914) based on her poems and other writings. These works give evidence of two constructs related to a psychological conflict in her life. The first is a dependence/independence dichotomy, thematized as a polarized love relationship between speaker and Other, who can represent two individuals or dual aspects of the poet's self. The second involves the poet's fascination with death, which becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy when she is murdered by her ex-husband at the age of twenty-seven.

Book Suffering Is Never for Nothing

Download or read book Suffering Is Never for Nothing written by Elisabeth Elliot and published by B&H Publishing Group. This book was released on 2019-02-01 with total page 89 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hard times come for all in life, with no real explanation. When we walk through suffering, it has the potential to devastate and destroy, or to be the gateway to gratitude and joy. Elisabeth Elliot was no stranger to suffering. Her first husband, Jim, was murdered by the Waoroni people in Ecuador moments after he arrived in hopes of sharing the gospel. Her second husband was lost to cancer. Yet, it was in her deepest suffering that she learned the deepest lessons about God. Why doesn’t God do something about suffering? He has, He did, He is, and He will. Suffering and love are inexplicably linked, as God’s love for His people is evidenced in His sending Jesus to carry our sins, griefs, and sufferings on the cross, sacrificially taking what was not His on Himself so that we would not be required to carry it. He has walked the ultimate path of suffering, and He has won victory on our behalf. This truth led Elisabeth to say, “Whatever is in the cup that God is offering to me, whether it be pain and sorrow and suffering and grief along with the many more joys, I’m willing to take it because I trust Him.” Because suffering is never for nothing.
