Book excerpt: Revelation may be a secret that seems impossible to penetrate, but anything is possible with God's wisdom. God reveals his Word to those whose hearts belong to him. Therefore, eventually leaving no mysteries left unknown. The Word of God will be fulfilled, and his purpose will be achieved. Mankind does have a set time when we will lose the dominion God has given us in this age. Why? We are killing each other and destroying the earth. Immorality is thriving. God's truth is a rarity. Therefore, in the near future, God will initiate the sounding of his trumpets. The first trumpet will begin the countdown for us to make reconciliation with God, at least for anyone who has not. This is accomplished through the blood of Christ. We are the last-days generation. The seals have taken us to the doorstep of the tribulation. Our hope lies in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. His glory is in God's called, chosen, and faithful holy ones. We must seek and return to our Creator.

Book Maimonides and the Hermeneutics of Concealment

Download or read book Maimonides and the Hermeneutics of Concealment written by James Arthur Diamond and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 2012-02-01 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Winner of the 2003 Nachman Sokol-Mollie Halberstadt Prize in Biblical/Rabbinic Scholarship presented by the Canadian Jewish Book Awards Maimonides and the Hermeneutics of Concealment demonstrates the type of hermeneutic that the medieval Jewish philosopher Moses Maimonides (1138–1204) engaged in throughout his treatise, The Guide of the Perplexed. By comprehensively analyzing Maimonides' use of rabbinic and scriptural sources, James Arthur Diamond argues that, far from being merely prooftexts, they are in fact essential components of Maimonides' esoteric stratagem. Diamond's close reading of biblical and rabbinic citations in the Guide not only penetrates its multilayered structure to arrive at its core meaning, but also distinguishes Maimonides as a singular contributor to the Jewish exegetical tradition.

Book The Bible Knowledge Commentary Minor Prophets

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God’s Love and Justice on Display What do we know about the date of Joel’s ministry? How do the warnings of Malachi relate to the Book of Revelation? How did Amos’s profession as a rancher influence his prophetic voice? Drawing on the research of internationally known Bible scholars, this detailed commentary looks at each verse of the final books of the Old Testament. The words of the minor prophets draw us closer to God by teaching us about His enduring love, His judgment to the unfaithful and mercy to the repentant, and His call to restoration for people who have suffered. Covering every book from Hosea through Malachi, this commentary shows the meaning behind these powerful prophecies while reminding us how ordinary people spoke extraordinary truth on behalf of a loving and just God.
