  • Pages : 164 pages

Download or read book Whose Fault written by Jackie Gabagambi and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2012-07 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whose Fault? is the true story that speaks about a young girl who was born, grew up in a village, where she lived with her grandmother and her uncles without knowing her biological father. Her mother (Camilla), whom she called sister, got pregnant when working as a labourer at the NAFCO estate. After becoming pregnant, Camilla's relationship with Godson didn't end in a good way; she was forced out of her job and went back home to her family, where she gave birth to her daughter (Olive). Actually, Olive's family weren't financially sound enough to fulfil her needs, including sending her to secondary school after finishing her primary school education, although they would have loved to do so. She lived in the village where most of her fellow pupils ended up getting married and becoming farmers after their primary school education. Olive never wanted to get married or even to be a farmer; actually, life in the village never pleased her. Her dreams were to study to high levels after her primary school education. It was impossible for her to achieve her dreams because of the lack of finance in her family. She believed that if she could know her father, he could manage to educate her further, although she wasn't sure of her thought. As she grew up and approached the end of her primary school education, she found herself in a dilemma. She was running out of time, and she had only a few months to find out about her father. She decided to force her mother to show her father to her. Otherwise, she would have to take the responsibility of taking her to secondary school, something that was impossible for her mother, who had been married to another man at the same village at the moment. Her mother never allowed her to ask those kinds of questions because it was a sort of shame in that village for girls who were brought up without knowing their fathers to demand to know them. Her mother was harsh to her, and her whole family was against her idea, but that didn't stop her from asking and getting what she wanted. Although she didn't have a clue about her father, she went the extra mile when she decided to search for him. She went through terrible moments that nearly took her life. I gave the book (Whose Fault) this title because, in the end, Olive met her father. One day, she asked him why he never searched for her, or even wanted to know whether she existed or not as he never saw (Camilla) again for fourteen years after she got pregnant. Surprisingly, his response was, It was your mother's fault. It was her responsibility to show your father to you.' She realised that if she had never searched for him, he wouldn't have ever searched for her, even though she didn't know whom to blame.

When Chris, the natural leader of the three, announces his intentions to join the Army Air Corps, Tom immediately decides to join with him. Casey, having always believed that she would grow up to marry Chris, is devastated. When war breaks out, however, Casey pitches in, eventually becoming a nurse's aide in the Red Cross. Bill Evans, a boy her own age, sees Chris's absence as his opportunity to win her love from Chris. Casey's heart, however, belongs to Chris, leaving Bill angry and resentful. With action in England during the Battle of Britain, Operation: Torch in North Africa, and a mission into Italy, The Long Road Home details the lives, loves and losses of the three friends as they continue to intersect. Plane crashes, secret weddings, and secret missions bring with them barriers, but Bill Evan's treachery poses the greatest threat to the friends' happiness. As though the Hand of God were writing the final chapter, Chris, Casey and Tom battle through the horrors of war and the terror of betrayal to reach the end of their long road home to love, happiness, and each other.

After three agonizing days he decided that there was no other solution: The President had to die. Tanner initiated a plot to have President Ted Hoskins assassinated in a way that would make his death look like an accident. Fearing what she might know about the President's activities, the plotters also killed Hoskins' mistress, the Secretary of the Interior, Sarah Brewster. For five years it looked like they had gotten away with it, until Sarah's alcoholic husband found her diary including the details of her affair with the President. Broke, drunk and angry, the husband contacted an ex-CIA agent turned international affairs writer to ghost-write a book spilling all of Hoskins' dirty secrets, revelations that would raise questions that the conspirators couldn't afford to have asked. The killers quickly got rid of Sarah's husband, but by then the diary had fallen into the hands of his daughter, Allison, and the ghostwriter, Steve Grant. Barely one step ahead of the killers, Steve and Allison desperately search for Sarah's last hidden file that contains the whole story about the President, a file they have to find before the killers find them if they expect to have any hope of staying alive.

Book Love Cycles Fear Cycles

Download or read book Love Cycles Fear Cycles written by David Woodsfellow and published by SelectBooks, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-03-27 with total page 187 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Love Cycles, Fear Cycles teaches readers the most important idea in all of couples therapy. This idea gives readers a new understanding of what’s been going wrong in their marriage – and a new way to make things right. The key idea is changing a couple’s negative cycle back into their positive cycle. Most relationships start in a positive cycle, where both people feel wonderful and respond lovingly. There are four words that describe each couple’s positive cycle – one for each person’s good feeling, and one for each person’s loving response. However, as challenges arise, people instinctively respond with some type of fight or flight. Over time, these responses spiral together into a negative cycle where each person feels bad and responds defensively. There are four words for each couple’s negative cycle – one for each person’s worst feeling, and one for each person’s defensive reaction. Many couples get trapped in their negative cycle and their relationship spirals deeper into hurt and loneliness. To have a good marriage, a couple needs to find a way out of their negative cycle and back into their positive cycle. Love Cycles, Fear Cycles teaches readers how to do that. From his decades as a couples therapist, Dr. Woodsfellow has distilled this one most-essential component of all successful marriage counseling. He now presents this to the general public in a way that is easy to understand and easy to use.
