Book excerpt: We live in a world, where the deep rooted patriarchy have burdened the shoulders of women and they are not free to make their choices. But doesn’t the constitution say, each of the citizen have the freedom of right to do anything until and unless it is harmful to others? Women must be able to practise their rights based on their choices as well as wishes. To be a free woman, one must reject patriarchy's dubious mantle of "protection," which is patriarchy's unique selling point for many women. Women, you have the freedom to choose, to work, to dress, to speak out, to run, to fight so live your life to the fullest. “It’s her choice” consists of several co-authors from all over the globe who have dedicated their inked verses as a poem, quote, micro tale or a short story which revolves around the different themes. We are hoping for the great success of this book, a free anthology launched by Writer’s Abode Publication in which none of the co-Authors are charged a single penny throughout the publishing process.

Book excerpt: This is a journey through doubt, fear, pain, and joy. Its a story of healing self in mind, body, and spirit through choices made in a lifetime; a story belonging to anyone; a story without gender, race, or wealth. Its my choice! I think of the many times Ive told myself that and the years it took before I believed it. Theyre reminders that I own my decisions regardless what the situation is or who tells me what to do. Today, self-reminders are less frequent because I feel in control of my whole life, not just part of it. Why? Because I have a free will, Gods gift to each of us. Its a love-gift given freely, unconditionally. It is without strings, enabling me to choose my journey, my path. I believe that it is by loving ourselves we can make progress and become better. I believe that our purpose on earth is to become better human beings by recognizing that special light within usGod. To you, reader, God may be the Universal Consciousness, Allah, or the Almighty. Whichever it is, remember it is your choice!

Download or read book It s Your Choice written by Dan Harsh and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2019-08-29 with total page 69 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every day we make choices. These choices impact our lives, our careers, our families, our health, our successes, and our failures. Often we make choices without considering the impact or consequences that may result. We make choices every day in the workplace and in our personal lives that mold and craft our future, and we are not even aware of it. Where we are today is a direct result of the choices we have made. Where we will be tomorrow is directly related to the choices we are going to make. Each of us has been dealt a hand of cards. The cards we have been dealt may have been outside our control. However, how we respond to these cards is 100 percent within our control. The best poker players don’t win because they always have the best cards; they win because they know how to play the cards they are dealt. They know when to fold, when to stay in the game, how to read the other players at the table, and when to bluff. They win because of choices they make with the cards they were dealt. It’s Your Choice will help bring clarity and perspective to the choices you are faced with each day in the workplace and in your personal life. It will bring reason and logic to things that you may not have considered before. It’s Your Choice is designed to challenge you to think differently, more clearly, and with a larger perspective of the choices you make each day. There will be things in It’s Your Choice you don’t want to hear. There will be things shared that will challenge you to think deeper than you have in the past. What you do with what you read in It’s Your Choice is indeed your choice.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I had been a nurse for more than 2 decades and I witnessed 2 definite situations in the hospital or in the community either to recover or die. In this kind of situation I noticed various emotional and behavioral displays. For people who recovers it is a celebration of life but for a dying person, fear, struggles, anxiety, screaming, yelling for help sets in and the joy, rest, peace with great expectations begun to marvel. Why? I was 9 years old sickly, frail and scared of death wanting to go to heaven but I dont know how? I recovered and I was glad but still with a big question how will I go to heaven? I was clueless. While I was still a nursing student assigned in a hospital, I heard someone screaming loudly, I dont want to go. I saw a big muscled man struggling and fighting with no one around. Few hours later I discovered that he died of internal bleeding with wide open eyes and mouth. A sign of struggle? Why?

Download or read book Pro Life Pulpit written by Stephen Tu and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2011-05-23 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over one million unborn children are intentionally aborted every year in North America. Voiceless and helpless, their blood cries out. Will those of us who serve as pastors and preachers respond from our pulpits? Silence is not an option. We cannot keep quiet while thousands of our neighbors, made in the image of God, are being led to the slaughter every day. But neither should we condemn and vilify those who are complicit in their deaths. A truly pro-life pulpit ministry opposes the injustice of abortion with truth, courage and understanding. Tears mingled with hope, overflowing with grace. After all, the Christian faith is rooted in the good news of a Messiah who was once an embryo. Nine months before he was born, Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and for the next forty weeks he lived and grew in the womb of an unwed teenaged mother. He is at the heart of our preaching, and this book will show you how to confront the sin of abortion by proclaiming the God who became abortable in order to save sinners.
Download or read book Young People s Understandings of Men s Violence Against Women written by Nancy Lombard and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-03-09 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Globally, nationally and locally men’s violence against women is an endemic social problem and an enduring human rights issue. Unlike men who are most likely to be victims of stranger assaults and violence, official data shows that women are most likely to be attacked, beaten, raped and killed by men known to them - either partners or family members. Research has maintained that to challenge and prevent men’s violence against women, changing the attitudes and behaviour of young people is essential. This ground-breaking book presents the first investigation into what younger people think about men’s violence against women. It does this by locating their constructions and understandings within the temporal and spatial location of childhood. Through challenging the perception that young people are too young to ’know’ about violence or to offer opinions on it, Nancy Lombard demonstrates the ways to talk to younger people about men's violence. Through confronting preconceptions of younger people’s existing knowledge, capabilities and understanding, she demonstrates that this is a subject which young people can confidently discuss.
