After years of life in gang riddled neighborhoods and fast paced crime, life has come to a virtual standstill. But all is not as quiet as it first seems. Supernatural forces are beckoning to James, searching for a treasure hidden deep inside him. The changes he expected when he arrived are far different from the transformations about to overtake him and his family. His first surprise comes in the form of an annoying nightly sound - one that his grandparents dismiss as the natural decline of their aging homestead. The second surprise fits inside a pair of tight blue jeans, has bright blue eyes and long wavy black hair - Jolie Lefleur Dimanche. And she has had a dream impossible to ignore, one which lures her into a torrid relationship with James Earl. Tormented by the past and present, love and hope will entice James Earl Williams into a dark place where dreams and premonitions come alive. One wrong decision could easily take him to a place of no return.

Download or read book T I M E D R I V E written by Titus D. Huxford and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2004-12-09 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: PREFACE This story centers on a group of kids, their families and the invention of an extremely technical device. Known as the TIMEDRIVE, this multi-computer-integrated system operates a very unique video camcorder that allows a controlled adjustment of the time variable. Incorporated for playback into a state-of-the-art, internally contained, spherically domed, three-dimensional theater, it actually replays coverage of the space-time continuum. The system is capable of viewing only the surroundings within range of the zoom lens. Consider watching a movie while sitting in the eye of the camera, as everything happens all around you in perfect portrayal of realistic life-size examples. The only catch is that at one time, this show was for real. Consider the sun, boasting a core temperature of almost thirty million degrees, well over ninety million miles away. Our nearest star spans about three million miles in circumference, while containing a spherical volume of nearly a million and a half times that of the earth. Composed of many different gases at extremely explosive pressures, we cannot begin to conceive the power. Try to imagine over 100 billion one-megaton nuclear bombs exploding every second, still, while for who knows how many eons. This massive titanic fireball in space emits heat waves or gamma rays of incomprehensible supply while in the form of electromagnetic energy. Theyre always present or constant and carry light energy, which Einstein called quantum photons. The atmosphere focuses this heat energy upon the earths surface much like a magnifying glass. Our resulting weather factor, known as the quantum pinpoint, depends on the earth and how its seasonally tilted (winter, spring, etc.). Summertime brings about an intense concentration of focal alignment between atmosphere and surface conditions. Most people prefer spring and fall, as the earth begins nearing or slipping away from pinpoint focus, providing very comfortable conditions. Factors such as altitude, longitude, latitude, distance from the equator, water supplies, soil types, and many other environmental qualities determine atmospheric reactions in our individual regional global locality. The mountains are at a higher altitude, never allowing them to fully focus, thus explaining the snow-covered tops. Plants and animals need the suns heat or light energy in order to survive. If the human eye could focus on these heat waves in infrared, like a cat, we would be able to see at night. The suns core energy is released in the form of gamma radiation, as unfathomable quantities of gaseous matter interact in the form of nuclear fusion. In this process, a pair of hydrogen nuclei, combined into a single helium nucleus, undergo countless other changes, and the result radiates throughout the entire solar system. The heat energy is absorbed, chemically transformed by living organisms, then reflected, and therefore bounced off the earths surface. The light photons reflect in your eye, as the dark pupil absorbs them. In only microseconds, a signal is sent to the brain, enabling sight. Think about wearing a black T-shirt on a hot summer day. How about the dashboard of your car when left sitting in the afternoon sun. The darker objects absorb the light or quantum photons while in a natural conductional transfer of chemical differences in potential energy. This is very much like unto the gravity of a mass in comparison to a spherical celestial body in motion. However, we wont get into that here. Where do you think the sunlight goes when its reflected off the earths surface? Its simply absorbed into space, as the cold darkness attracts the light or heat chemical energy. Einstein said energy could not be destroyed, only changed into another form. The universe is made of many strange abnormalities, which we don

Download or read book The Portable Father written by Stacey Granger and published by Turner Publishing Company. This book was released on 1997-03-01 with total page 79 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For most of us, Dad always seemed to be the biggest and most wonderful person we knew. In spite of all that Mom did for us, Dad loomed almost larger than life: strong, fun-loving, the most handsomest man in the world, and - most important - the man who protected and loved us. It seemed that Dad was full of advice. He sure had plenty of it to go around. Some of it was to the point and made a great deal of sense, says Stacey Granger. Some of it made little sense at all to my brother, sister, and me, like when he said, "The more things change, the more they stay the same." But when he said, "There are three types of people in this world: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who sit around wondering what happened," we knew he was telling us which kind of person he wanted us to become. The Portable Father is a delightful collection of about 300 bits of wisdom, fun, and advice that fathers pass along to their children. Illustrated with 26 cartoons, The Portable Father is filled with sayings we have heard our own fathers speak or - now that we are adults - we've caught ourselves saying to our own children

Download or read book Cyborgs Mankind Redefined written by Donna McDonald and published by Donna McDonald. This book was released on 2020-03-24 with total page 1009 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The war may be over, but the fight for their humanity is just beginning. PEYTON 313 - Dr. Kyra Winters never meant for her cyber science discoveries to be used for evil, but that’s exactly what happened. She can’t undo the past but she can change the present by restoring the cyborg who was once Marine Captain Peyton Elliot. KINGSTON 691 - Norton took his wife and his memories away. Now King wants them back. Kingston West put his military service behind him much easier than most of the soldiers he served with during the final world war. As far as he's concerned, the cyborg named Kingston 691 no longer exists. MARCUS 582 - No matter what his cybernetic mind concludes, nothing in Marcus Kell’s newly restored life is logical. He still remembers all the things Kyra says a restored cyborg is supposed to forget. Things like what it was like to be captured and tortured while fighting to save a country that a decade later doesn’t care about him. ERIC 754 - Marine Lance Corporal Eric Anderson tended to forget he was a cyborg. Most of the time he didn't give his past as a military machine any thought. He'd always lived by his human gut, not his logic chip, so thinking outside of the cybernetic box was just how he worked. Then he met her—Evelyn 489—a female cyborg so erratically dangerous she has to be kept locked away.

They also portray the creative thought patterns that readers can either relate to or deeply appreciate. This book displays a collection of poems and creative pieces put together as a broken family's project. William "B.J." Saunders, deceased due to alcoholism, provided the majority of the writings. Angela Mitchell, ex-wife to William Saunders, supplies the second largest portion of the book. Zack Saunders, son of William Saunders and Angela Mitchell, displays his creative expressions for a third portion of the book. Readers can feel drawn to the paintings portrayed through words. Each writing hopefully captivates readers with its uniqueness and ability to make readers feel the emotion behind what each author communicates.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 365 Ways to Know God provides one devotional reading for each day of the year, including a key verse, devotional message, prayer, Scripture references for further study, and a key thought. As you read and pray through each devotional, exploring a different name of God each day, you will learn more about God's character. You will begin to know Him more intimately and live closer to Him than ever before. When you choose to go deeper and study the suggested Bible reading, you will develop even more understanding of the name assigned for that day. Get ready to be transformed through this devotional study as you draw near to God. “Elmer Towns know a lot about the names of God. He has lectured on the names of each of the three Persons of the Godhead and has written three best-selling books on them…to give us information on God’s names and to help us understand the nature of God from His names. Many people have used them in their Bible studies or Sunday school classes. Now, in this devotional, Dr. Towns writes to our hearts so that we can feel and apply God to our everyday living,” says author Tim LaHaye in the book’s Foreward. “Through the names of God, we can touch God each day in a new and different way; but most important, God can touch us daily.”
