Book Information Security Management Systems

Download or read book Information Security Management Systems written by Heru Susanto and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-06-14 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This new volume, Information Security Management Systems: A Novel Framework and Software as a Tool for Compliance with Information Security Standard, looks at information security management system standards, risk management associated with information security, and information security awareness within an organization. The authors aim to improve the overall ability of organizations to participate, forecast, and actively assess their information security circumstances. It is important to note that securing and keeping information from parties who do not have authorization to access such information is an extremely important issue. To address this issue, it is essential for an organization to implement an ISMS standard such as ISO 27001 to address the issue comprehensively. The authors of this new volume have constructed a novel security framework (ISF) and subsequently used this framework to develop software called Integrated Solution Modeling (ISM), a semi-automated system that will greatly help organizations comply with ISO 27001 faster and cheaper than other existing methods. In addition, ISM does not only help organizations to assess their information security compliance with ISO 27001, but it can also be used as a monitoring tool, helping organizations monitor the security statuses of their information resources as well as monitor potential threats. ISM is developed to provide solutions to solve obstacles, difficulties, and expected challenges associated with literacy and governance of ISO 27001. It also functions to assess the RISC level of organizations towards compliance with ISO 27001. The information provide here will act as blueprints for managing information security within business organizations. It will allow users to compare and benchmark their own processes and practices against these results shown and come up with new, critical insights to aid them in information security standard (ISO 27001) adoption.

Book Soft Computing for Biomedical Applications and Related Topics

Download or read book Soft Computing for Biomedical Applications and Related Topics written by Vladik Kreinovich and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-06-29 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents innovative intelligent techniques, with an emphasis on their biomedical applications. Although many medical doctors are willing to share their knowledge – e.g. by incorporating it in computer-based advisory systems that can benefit other doctors – this knowledge is often expressed using imprecise (fuzzy) words from natural language such as “small,” which are difficult for computers to process. Accordingly, we need fuzzy techniques to handle such words. It is also desirable to extract general recommendations from the records of medical doctors’ decisions – by using machine learning techniques such as neural networks. The book describes state-of-the-art fuzzy, neural, and other techniques, especially those that are now being used, or potentially could be used, in biomedical applications. Accordingly, it will benefit all researchers and students interested in the latest developments, as well as practitioners who want to learn about new techniques.

Download or read book General Reports of the XXth General Congress of the International Academy of Comparative Law Rapports g n raux du XX me Congr s g n ral de l Acad mie internationale de droit compar written by Katharina Boele-Woelki and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-12-17 with total page 710 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores convergences of legal doctrine despite jurisdictional, cultural and political barriers, as well as divergences due to such barriers, examining topics that are of vital importance to contemporary legal scholars. Written by leading experts from all continents, its 26 chapters present a comparative analysis of cutting-edge legal issues of the 21st century. While each of the countries covered stands alone as a sovereign state, in a technologically advanced world their disparate systems nonetheless show comparable strategies in dealing with complex legal issues. Several of the chapters show how, in addition to state normative production and state adjudication, a growing panoply of non-state instruments and non-state adjudication are becoming more and more central to the legal field. This book is a key addition to the library of any scholar wanting to keep abreast of the major trends in contemporary law. Representing the current state of law in a vast range of areas, it covers each topic from a comparative perspective.

This comprehensive study takes a fresh look at the diverse understandings and interpretations of the idea of liberalism in Europe, encompassing not just the familiar movements, doctrines, and political parties that fall under the heading of “liberal” but also the intertwined historical currents of thought behind them. Here we find not an abstract, universalized liberalism, but a complex and overlapping configuration of liberalisms tied to diverse linguistic, temporal, and political contexts.
