This book was released on 2013-04-25 with total page 29 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Document from the year 2013 in the subject Business economics - Investment and Finance, grade: none, ( Atlantic International University ), course: Business Administration, language: English, abstract: Abstract The function of Foreign Direct Investment [FDI] in Tanzania is a serious matter which has been uncared for till recently. This came as a result of forcing the Asians to live East Africa especially during the era of Iddi Amini Dada the former president of Uganda after chasing Asians in his country. Most of Foreign Investors scared to invest in East Africa as they feared their property that could be nationalized as Iddi Amini did. For Tanzania itself however, Foreign Direct Investment epitomizes a crucial additional source of the investment capital and make a payment to the Tanzania’s economic growth and development. This thesis denotes one of the initial endeavors to scrutinize the implications of the inflows of FDI and Diversity to Tanzania’s economy. The psychoanalysis of this thesis is undertaken in perspective of the current literature and the efforts which are made by the government of Tanzania to encourage more inflow of Foreign Investors in the country, and people’s opinions on FDI in the country. Also this thesis will focus on the challenges the private investors come across in their efforts to promote investment in Tanzania.

This book was released on 2008 with total page 46 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This paper employs a 52-sector, small, open-economy computable general equilibrium model of the Tanzanian economy to assess the impact of the liberalization of regulatory barriers against foreign and domestic business service providers in Tanzania. The model incorporates productivity effects in both goods and services markets endogenously, through a Dixit-Stiglitz framework. It summarizes policy notes on the key business service sectors that were prepared for this work, and estimates the ad valorem equivalent of barriers to foreign direct investment based on these policy notes and detailed questionnaires completed by specialists in Tanzania. The authors estimate that Tanzania will gain about 5.3 percent of the value of Tanzanian consumption in the medium run (or about 4.8 percent of gross domestic product) from a full reform package that also includes uniform tariffs. The estimated gains increase to about 16 percent of consumption in the long-run, steady-state model, where the impact on the accumulation of capital from an improvement in the productivity of capital is taken into account. Decomposition exercises reveal that the largest gains to Tanzania will derive from liberalization of costly regulatory barriers that are non-discriminatory in their impacts between Tanzanian and multinational service providers.
