Download or read book Investigations on Target Tracking and Classification Using Multiple Sensor Data Fusion Task IV written by and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 91 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The analyses in the first part of this report are aimed at developing an understanding of hardware & software implementation issues for a high performance fusion function within the Anti Air Warfare (AAW) frigate. The AN/UYK-507 CB computer is selected for the study of the general purpose processor implementations. An extended parallel processing architecture, capable of executing about 100 million operations per second, is proposed within the militarized version of this computer for the study of the parallel processing implementations. A central level fusion function using the multi-hypothesis tracking method is selected for the study of benchmark algorithm implementations and an appendix shows how to estimate the number of mathematical operations required to perform some tasks of the multisensor data fusion functions. The analyses in the second part focusses mainly on the man-machine interface & human factors issues of an AAW frigate employing the central-level fusion function using the method discussed in the first part.

Download or read book Computational Science ICCS 2004 written by Marian Bubak and published by Springer. This book was released on 2004-10-11 with total page 1336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The International Conference on Computational Science (ICCS 2004) held in Krak ́ ow, Poland, June 6–9, 2004, was a follow-up to the highly successful ICCS 2003 held at two locations, in Melbourne, Australia and St. Petersburg, Russia; ICCS 2002 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands; and ICCS 2001 in San Francisco, USA. As computational science is still evolving in its quest for subjects of inves- gation and e?cient methods, ICCS 2004 was devised as a forum for scientists from mathematics and computer science, as the basic computing disciplines and application areas, interested in advanced computational methods for physics, chemistry, life sciences, engineering, arts and humanities, as well as computer system vendors and software developers. The main objective of this conference was to discuss problems and solutions in all areas, to identify new issues, to shape future directions of research, and to help users apply various advanced computational techniques. The event harvested recent developments in com- tationalgridsandnextgenerationcomputingsystems, tools, advancednumerical methods, data-driven systems, and novel application ?elds, such as complex - stems, ?nance, econo-physics and population evolution.

Book Springer Handbook of Robotics

Download or read book Springer Handbook of Robotics written by Bruno Siciliano and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-07-27 with total page 2259 pages. Interacting, exploring, and working with humans, the new generation of robots will increasingly touch people and their lives. The credible prospect of practical robots among humans is the result of the scientific endeavour of a half a century of robotic developments that established robotics as a modern scientific discipline. The ongoing vibrant expansion and strong growth of the field during the last decade has fueled this second edition of the Springer Handbook of Robotics. The first edition of the handbook soon became a landmark in robotics publishing and won the American Association of Publishers PROSE Award for Excellence in Physical Sciences & Mathematics as well as the organization’s Award for Engineering & Technology. The second edition of the handbook, edited by two internationally renowned scientists with the support of an outstanding team of seven part editors and more than 200 authors, continues to be an authoritative reference for robotics researchers, newcomers to the field, and scholars from related disciplines. The contents have been restructured to achieve four main objectives: the enlargement of foundational topics for robotics, the enlightenment of design of various types of robotic systems, the extension of the treatment on robots moving in the environment, and the enrichment of advanced robotics applications. Further to an extensive update, fifteen new chapters have been introduced on emerging topics, and a new generation of authors have joined the handbook’s team.
