Book Investigation of Mechanism of Catalytic Reduction of Nitrobenzene and Certain of Its Derivatives

Download or read book Investigation of Mechanism of Catalytic Reduction of Nitrobenzene and Certain of Its Derivatives written by V. P. Shmonina and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Investigated were the kinetics of reduction of nitrobenzene, nitrobenzene-aniline intermediate products, their binary mixtures and a number of substituted nitrobenzenes on Raney nickel, platinum and palladium at atmospheric pressure of hydrogen and low temperatures. Data of catalytic reduction of mixtures of nitrobenzene-aniline products and analysis of reaction mixture in the course of reduction of nitrobenzene indicate that along with hydrogenation, i.e., successive interaction of nitro group with three molecules of hydrogen, there is possible non-catalytic bonding of intermediate products of nitrosobenzene and phenol hydroxylamine, leading to the formation of azoxybenzene, which further is transformed into aniline through azo- and hydrazobenzene. The path along which the process chiefly goes depends on the numerical ratio of reacting components on the surface of catalyst, which in turn, is determined by the nature of catalyst, temperature, composition of solvent, concentration of reducible substance, presence of different additions in the reaction mixture etc. Nature of the substituent does not always predetermine the effect which it will have on the speed of heterogeneous-catalytic reaction. Book Certain Regularities of the Catalytic Hydrogenation of Nitrobenzene Derivatives on Raney Nickel

Download or read book Certain Regularities of the Catalytic Hydrogenation of Nitrobenzene Derivatives on Raney Nickel written by A. V. Finkelshtein and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nitrobenzene, m-nitrotoluene, p-nitrotoluene, p-nitrophenol, o-nitrophenol, o-nitroaniline, and p-nitrophenetole were hydrogenated at 20 degrees at hydrogen pressure of 750 mm Hg with Raney nickel used as the catalyst. Kinetic curves and rate constants of the process were taken, and a relationship between the rate constant and the 'solvate chromic effect' was demonstrated. It is stated that the results provide dome confirmation of the assumed presence of a connection between the change in the energy of reaction of molecules of a dissolved substance with the medium and the change in the activation energy of certain reactions.

Book Progress in Electrochemistry of Organic Compounds 1

Download or read book Progress in Electrochemistry of Organic Compounds 1 written by A. N. Frumkin and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 442 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the Soviet Union, investigations of electrochemical changes in organic substances are being conducted on a comparatively large scale and a large number of specialists are involved. This arises to a large extent from the necessity to solve problems in the applied fields, e.g. in the development of new improved methods for the analysis and synthesis of organic compounds or in the work on fuel cells. The attainment of substantial successes in this field has been linked inseparably with a deeper understanding of the mechanism and kinetics of electrolytic organic reactions and the utilization of modem research methods based on the latest achievements in instrumentation. The theory of organic electrode processes is therefore now developing rapidly. However, the propagation of information on this work has been relatively slow. The Series of reports on Progress in Electrochemistry of Organic Compounds should stimulate systematic treatment and propagation of information in this field of science. It is proposed that each volume of the series will be compiled on the same lines as the book Advances in Electrochemistry of Organic Compounds published by Nauka in 1966. They will form collections of original review articles on the most important aspects of the subject, prepared by competent authorities.

Book Catalytic Reductive Carbonylation of Organic Nitro Compounds

Download or read book Catalytic Reductive Carbonylation of Organic Nitro Compounds written by S. Cenini and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-04-17 with total page 349 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About eight years ago, the catalytic carbonylation of organic nitro compounds was a research field developed enough to justify a rather long review on this subject. Now, we feel that the scientific results and new achievements in this field, very important even from an industrial point of view, require a book in order to be adequately presented. The competition between the catalytic carbonylation of organic nitro compounds and other chemical routes for the synthesis of a variety of organic compounds has not yet come to an end, but many progresses have been done in the former field. We also like to emphasize that this type of research does not only involve relevant industrial problems to be solved, but it opens a research field where the academic interests (mechanism of the reactions, isolation of the intermediates in the catalytic cycles, synthesis of model compounds and so on) can find a lot of opportunities.

Book Organic Reaction Mechanisms 1989

Download or read book Organic Reaction Mechanisms 1989 written by A. C. Knipe and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2008-04-30 with total page 722 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The only book series to summarize the latest progress on organic reaction mechanisms, Organic Reaction Mechanisms, 1989 surveys the development in understanding of the main classes of organic reaction mechanisms reported in the primary scientific literature in 1989. The 25th annual volume in this highly successful series highlights mechanisms of stereo-specific reactions. Reviews are compiled by a team of experienced editors and authors, allowing advanced undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, and chemists to rely on the volume's continuing quality of selection and presentation.
