Book excerpt: The paper intends to investigate the impact of two types of leadership style (transformational leadership and transactional leadership) on employees’ engagement as well as employee’s turnover intention. Specifically, it builds link while introduces two moderating variables, emotional intelligence (EI) and employees’ tenure in the meantime to the investigation of leadership effectiveness. Whether leaders’ EI and employees’ tenure have the impact to strengthen or weaken certain leadership styles on employees’ engagement and turnover intention will be examined in the paper. The data were collected from one middle-sized enterprise in China, including 325 valid responses. Data results demonstrate that only transactional leadership style influences employee turnover intention and employee’s tenure moderates effect of transactional leadership style on employees’ outcomes but there was no significant effect of EI of leaders on two employee outcomes . Since the data mainly came from China, the paper integrates cross cultural theories and leadership practices in Chinese enterprises, discussions and implications of the research findings are offered. The organizations are striving hard to overcome this problem through different strategies. Leadership style plays a vital role in retaining the relationship between the employee and the organization. This study aims to understand the relation between the transactional leadership style and employee turnover intentions. The factors considered by employees as reasons for turnover intentions were also to be determined. From the population of software engineers working in Information Technology organizations, a sample of 180 software engineers was taken for the study. A well structured questionnaire was distributed and the responses were recorded. Statistical procedures were followed to analyze the data. Results reveal that there is a positive relation between the transactional leadership style and employee turnover intentions.

Book excerpt: This study aimed at investigating the effect of transformational and transactional leadership on education of employees' creativity by considering the moderating role of learning orientation and leader's gender. The study hypotheses were based on the impact of transformational and transactional leadership styles on employees' creativity. In this regard, the study questionnaire is distributed among 548 people of department of education employees. Using structural equation modeling the relationships between variables were investigated. The findings showed that the female leaders were more effective than male leaders on transforming schools. Moreover, the results showed that the learning orientation moderates the connection of both leadership styles and employees' creativity.

Book excerpt: The study is conducted to examine the relationship between leadership styles and citizenship behaviour in small and medium scale IT firms operating in Pakistan. The three popular styles of leadership which includes transactional leadership, transformational leadership and charismatic leadership have been studied along with organizational citizenship in 174 IT sector SMEs. This study has explored the correlation between leadership styles that proactively contributes to increase the organizational citizenship at all phases of employee's behaviour. Statistical findings suggested that different leadership style have been followed at moderate level in small and medium scale IT firms of Pakistan and have strong relationship with organizational citizenship. Moreover, organizational citizenship is proactively contrasted with different leadership styles. This study also validate the assumption that due to the internationalization phenomena IT sector SMEs have been adopted and implemented the management functions in a more comprehensive manner then other service sector SMEs in Pakistan.

After the survey sent in the IT firm in Karachi it has been come into notice that leadership style affects the effectiveness of IT organization. Four different types of leaders are found which are listed as dictator, democratic, visionary and free rein leader. All these styles have an impact on organizational effectiveness. Dictator and visionary styles influence positively, whereas others negatively. The visionary or transformational style yield most organizational effectiveness. So this is the best style to be used. The different dimensions used to define organizational effectiveness in IT industry are employee morale, organizations competitive position, customer satisfaction, management satisfaction, ability to introduce organizational change, market share of the firm. It is better to use transformational leadership style in most cases but sometimes autocratic style can also be used. Autocratic leadership style should be used when the employee is young/fresh in the industry. They actually need direct guidance and concrete explanation about task.

Literature was reviewed to broaden the concept and understanding of the study. Assessment and correlational research design were used, while weighted mean assessed the level of transformational and transactional leadership styles. The correlation between leadership styles and the innovative work behavior of the employees was measured utilizing Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The respondents were the administrators and employees of the Divine Word College of Laoag. Data of questionnaires were gathered from them. It was found that the transformational and transactional leadership styles of administrators are rated not very high, further it showed a significant correlation between transformational and transactional leadership styles and the innovative work behavior of the employees. Both leadership styles greatly affect the innovative work behavior of the employees. Therefore, the hypothesis of the study is accepted.

The purpose of this quantitative correlational research examines the increased probability of failure organizations face when engaging in enterprise Agile and DevOps transformational change initiatives. Through investigating the relationship between transformational leadership behaviors, readiness for change, and organizational citizenship behavior exhibited by management and employees engaging in Agile and DevOps initiatives within regional financial services companies with a presence in the South Eastern United States. The resulting study surveyed 390 anonymous participants with varying backgrounds and organizational roles based upon predetermined quota constraints aligning with the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Census, and FDIC data. Utilizing three principal instruments to measure transformational leadership, change readiness, and organizational citizenship behavior; conducting statistical analysis for construct reliability, descriptive properties, and hypothesis testing, concluding the existence of influential correlation of change readiness and organizational citizenship behaviors having a relationship with transformational leadership. The research findings identify the association of organizational readiness and employee social citizenship responsibility with applicability to transformational leadership, bringing light to the significance of grooming and sustaining leaders at all levels of the organization.
