Book Optimal Control of Nonlinear Processes

Download or read book Optimal Control of Nonlinear Processes written by Dieter Grass and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-07-24 with total page 552 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dynamic optimization is rocket science – and more. This volume teaches researchers and students alike to harness the modern theory of dynamic optimization to solve practical problems. These problems not only cover those in space flight, but also in emerging social applications such as the control of drugs, corruption, and terror. This volume is designed to be a lively introduction to the mathematics and a bridge to these hot topics in the economics of crime for current scholars. The authors celebrate Pontryagin’s Maximum Principle – that crowning intellectual achievement of human understanding. The rich theory explored here is complemented by numerical methods available through a companion web site.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mathematical Control Theory: An Introduction presents, in a mathematically precise manner, a unified introduction to deterministic control theory. In addition to classical concepts and ideas, the author covers the stabilization of nonlinear systems using topological methods, realization theory for nonlinear systems, impulsive control and positive systems, the control of rigid bodies, the stabilization of infinite dimensional systems, and the solution of minimum energy problems. "Covers a remarkable number of topics....The book presents a large amount of material very well, and its use is highly recommended." --Bulletin of the AMS

Book Mathematical Theory of Control of Nonlinear Processes

Download or read book Mathematical Theory of Control of Nonlinear Processes written by E. B. Lee and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 8 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The research conducted during the year centered around development of analysis and synthesis techniques for controlled systems having many degrees of freedom. The models considered were primarily of the differential or differential-difference equation type. Some preliminary investigations were made when the model is of the partial differential equation type for controlled systems with distributed parameters. Specific topics considered were: (1) Stabilizing feedback controllers, (2) Optimal control, (3) Identification and realizability, (4) Large scale optimization, and (5 Simulation techniques. Book Algebraic and Differential Methods for Nonlinear Control Theory

Download or read book Algebraic and Differential Methods for Nonlinear Control Theory written by Rafael Martínez-Guerra and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-01-30 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a short primer in engineering mathematics with a view on applications in nonlinear control theory. In particular, it introduces some elementary concepts of commutative algebra and algebraic geometry which offer a set of tools quite different from the traditional approaches to the subject matter. This text begins with the study of elementary set and map theory. Chapters 2 and 3 on group theory and rings, respectively, are included because of their important relation to linear algebra, the group of invertible linear maps (or matrices) and the ring of linear maps of a vector space. Homomorphisms and Ideals are dealt with as well at this stage. Chapter 4 is devoted to the theory of matrices and systems of linear equations. Chapter 5 gives some information on permutations, determinants and the inverse of a matrix. Chapter 6 tackles vector spaces over a field, Chapter 7 treats linear maps resp. linear transformations, and in addition the application in linear control theory of some abstract theorems such as the concept of a kernel, the image and dimension of vector spaces are illustrated. Chapter 8 considers the diagonalization of a matrix and their canonical forms. Chapter 9 provides a brief introduction to elementary methods for solving differential equations and, finally, in Chapter 10, nonlinear control theory is introduced from the point of view of differential algebra.

Book Mathematical Control Theory

Download or read book Mathematical Control Theory written by Eduardo D. Sontag and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-21 with total page 543 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Geared primarily to an audience consisting of mathematically advanced undergraduate or beginning graduate students, this text may additionally be used by engineering students interested in a rigorous, proof-oriented systems course that goes beyond the classical frequency-domain material and more applied courses. The minimal mathematical background required is a working knowledge of linear algebra and differential equations. The book covers what constitutes the common core of control theory and is unique in its emphasis on foundational aspects. While covering a wide range of topics written in a standard theorem/proof style, it also develops the necessary techniques from scratch. In this second edition, new chapters and sections have been added, dealing with time optimal control of linear systems, variational and numerical approaches to nonlinear control, nonlinear controllability via Lie-algebraic methods, and controllability of recurrent nets and of linear systems with bounded controls.

Download or read book Nonlinear Systems Vol 1 written by Victoriano Carmona and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-09-15 with total page 428 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is part of a two volume set which presents the analysis of nonlinear phenomena as a long-standing challenge for research in basic and applied science as well as engineering. It discusses nonlinear differential and differential equations, bifurcation theory for periodic orbits and global connections. The integrability and reversibility of planar vector fields and theoretical analysis of classic physical models are sketched. This first volume concentrates on the mathematical theory and computational techniques that are essential for the study of nonlinear science, a second volume deals with real-world nonlinear phenomena in condensed matter, biology and optics.

Book Nonlinear Processes in Engineering

Download or read book Nonlinear Processes in Engineering written by and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 1974-09-20 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, we study theoretical and practical aspects of computing methods for mathematical modelling of nonlinear systems. A number of computing techniques are considered, such as methods of operator approximation with any given accuracy; operator interpolation techniques including a non-Lagrange interpolation; methods of system representation subject to constraints associated with concepts of causality, memory and stationarity; methods of system representation with an accuracy that is the best within a given class of models; methods of covariance matrix estimation; methods for low-rank matrix approximations; hybrid methods based on a combination of iterative procedures and best operator approximation; and methods for information compression and filtering under condition that a filter model should satisfy restrictions associated with causality and different types of memory. As a result, the book represents a blend of new methods in general computational analysis, and specific, but also generic, techniques for study of systems theory ant its particular branches, such as optimal filtering and information compression. - Best operator approximation, - Non-Lagrange interpolation, - Generic Karhunen-Loeve transform - Generalised low-rank matrix approximation - Optimal data compression - Optimal nonlinear filtering
