Book Evaluation of Criteria for Uniformity of Roller compacted Concrete

Download or read book Evaluation of Criteria for Uniformity of Roller compacted Concrete written by Brian H. Green and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents the results of a laboratory investigation that was conducted for the purpose of validating mixer- uniformity requirements for roller-compacted concrete. The purpose of the investigation was to verify existing guidance or, if necessary, recommend changes to existing guidance. The investigation included both air-entrained and nonair-entrained concrete. The results indicate that existing guidance is appropriate for Vebe consistency, water content, coarse aggregate content, compressive strength, and air-content determinations. However, the results indicated that existing guidance could he too restrictive for the unit weight of air-free mortar determinations. A recommendation was made to consider revising current guidance on the allowable range for unit weight of air-free mortar.

Book Dynamic Mechanical Behaviors and Constitutive Model of Roller Compacted Concrete

Download or read book Dynamic Mechanical Behaviors and Constitutive Model of Roller Compacted Concrete written by Sherong Zhang and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-03-01 with total page 155 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book systematically illustrates the dynamic mechanical behaviors and discusses the fundamentals of the constitutive modeling of roller-compacted concrete (RCC), influenced by the construction technique and mix design. Four typical problems are analyzed using laboratory tests, numerical simulation and theoretical analysis, i.e., to illustrate the special dynamic mechanical behaviors of RCC, to reveal the dynamic size-dependence of mechanical properties, to discuss the aggregate size effect on dynamic mechanical properties, and to modify the dynamic constitutive model for RCC. Generally, the constitutive modeling of RCC needs a comprehensive understanding of dynamic size-dependence and aggregate size effect of concrete that coupled with the strain-rate sensitivity. So that, readers can master the modified dynamic constitutive model of RCC to analyze and solve the problems in blast-resistance analysis and protective design of RCC dams. This book can be used as a postgraduate textbook for civil and hydraulic engineering in colleges and universities, and as an elective course for senior undergraduates. It can also be used as a reference for relevant professional scientific researchers and engineers in field of protective design of concrete structures.

Yet few books, if any, exist that offer an in-depth analysis of the mixing and testing methods of this vital hydraulic cement. Until now that is. Engineered Concret

Book Practical Concrete Mix Design

Download or read book Practical Concrete Mix Design written by Avijit Chaubey and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-03-17 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Practical Concrete Mix Design has been compiled to help readers understand the concrete mix design methodology, including formulas and tables involved in the pertinent steps. This book helps engineers understand the mix design procedure, through illuminating every possible explanation for each step of mix design, limitations given by standards, and practical guides on tailor-making concrete to meet specific requirements. The construction industry needs engineers/experts who can reduce the costs of concrete, and thereby increase their profitability. This book shows effective methods for optimizing concrete and simultaneously achieving the desired properties of concrete. It covers why, how, and when with respect to concrete proportioning and optimization. It further provides the necessary skills for engineers to hone their skills in doing so, understanding the risks involved, and troubleshooting related problems.
