Book Chimie bio organique

Download or read book Chimie bio organique written by SANTELLI Maurice and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2012-07-16 with total page 386 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Introduction to Bioorganic Chemistry and Chemical Biology

Download or read book Introduction to Bioorganic Chemistry and Chemical Biology written by David Van Vranken and published by Garland Science. This book was released on 2018-10-08 with total page 504 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Introduction to Bioorganic Chemistry and Chemical Biology is the first textbook to blend modern tools of organic chemistry with concepts of biology, physiology, and medicine. With a focus on human cell biology and a problems-driven approach, the text explains the combinatorial architecture of biooligomers (genes, DNA, RNA, proteins, glycans, lipids, and terpenes) as the molecular engine for life. Accentuated by rich illustrations and mechanistic arrow pushing, organic chemistry is used to illuminate the central dogma of molecular biology. Introduction to Bioorganic Chemistry and Chemical Biology is appropriate for advanced undergraduate and graduate students in chemistry and molecular biology, as well as those going into medicine and pharmaceutical science.

Book Chimie des processus biologiques une introduction

Download or read book Chimie des processus biologiques une introduction written by Marc Fontecave and published by Collège de France. This book was released on 2013-01-24 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Basic Chemistry for Life Science Students and Professionals

Download or read book Basic Chemistry for Life Science Students and Professionals written by Solomon Habtemariam and published by Royal Society of Chemistry. This book was released on 2023-05-17 with total page 477 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Organic chemistry plays a vital role in the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledge of organic compounds is used to inform research and further the discovery and development of new medicines. Likewise, organic chemistry is fundamental to understanding biological reactions, mechanisms and all life sciences in general. Basic Chemistry for Life Science Students and Professionals is an ideal introduction to organic chemistry in the context of the life sciences and pharmacy related disciplines; utilising drug molecules to illustrate the chemical basis of their efficacy and interaction with biological targets. This book builds upon the basic concepts of organic chemistry to develop the reader’s understanding of the importance of organic chemistry to the life sciences from natural product sources, their synthesis, and approaches to drug discovery. Ideal for undergraduate students in the natural sciences, this book is also an excellent primer for postgraduates in a variety of disciplines including forensic science and allied-health programmes as well as professionals working in related fields seeking a comprehensive introduction to organic chemistry in the context of pharmaceuticals.

Book Introduction to Organic and Biological Chemistry

Download or read book Introduction to Organic and Biological Chemistry written by Stuart J. Baum and published by . This book was released on 1982 with total page 586 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract: A college text presents fundamental concepts in organic chemistry (11 chapters) and biochemistry (10 chapters) for students in these and related fields (nutrition, pharmacology, and other health sciences). The sections on organic chemistry deal with various chemical classes (e.g., hydrocarbons, acids, esters, phosphorus and sulfur compounds); those on biochemistry cover various biochemical classes (e.g., carbohydrates, lipids, enzymes, proteins, nucleic acids) and their metabolism. Two final sections cover blood characteristics and functions and the relationship between nutrition and health (specifically, the roles of individual vitamins and minerals). Exercises are included after each chapter. (wz).

Book Introduction to the Chemistry of Life

Download or read book Introduction to the Chemistry of Life written by Harland D. Embree and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This book presents an introduction to the chemistry of life. It contains those facts and generalizations of organic chemistry that are both a fascinating object for study and also the basis for biochemistry. Without a firm foundation in organic chemistry (which itself is based on general chemistry), biochemistry becomes a meaningless memorization ... As a textbook, we believe this volume will be particularly useful for college courses for those who plan to teach biology or who plan to enter the health sciences"--Preface

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text directly addresses the needs of pre-med and life science majors who traditionally constitute the bulk of the student body enrolled in introductory chemistry courses by introducing organic chemistry in the first year. Since organic chemistry does not draw heavily on quantitative problem-solving, teaching organic chemistry in the first year can help students with weak math backgrounds. The text successfully integrates the biological applications of chemistry early on, so life science majors are better prepared for lab work, summer internships, and undergraduate research work.
