Colaboradores: Silvina Álvarez Medina, Manuel Arias Maldonado, Borja Barragué, Paula Casal, Alejandro Chehtman, Andrés de Francisco, Pablo de Lora, Catia Faria, Daniel Gamper, Roberto Gargarella, Iñigo González Ricoy, Óscar Horta, Marisa Iglesias Vila, Claudio López-Guerra, Alejandra Mancilla, José Juan Moreso, Julia Mosquera, Félix Ovejero, Jahel Queralt, Fernando Roberto Tesón, Eduardo Rivera López, Luis Rodríguez Abascal, Cristina Sánchez Muñoz, Manuel Toscano, Juan Carlos Velasco, Joan Vergés Gifra, Andrew Williams.

Book Introducci n a la filosof a moral

Download or read book Introducci n a la filosof a moral written by Rachels, James and published by Fondo de Cultura Economica. This book was released on 2021-10-01 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book excerpt: Twenty-three centuries after its compilation, 'The Politics' still has much to contribute to this central question of political science. Aristotle's thorough and carefully argued analysis is based on a study of over 150 city constitutions, covering a huge range of political issues in order to establish which types of constitution are best - both ideally and in particular circumstances - and how they may be maintained. Aristotle's opinions form an essential background to the thinking of philosophers such as Thomas Aquinas, Machiavelli and Jean Bodin and both his premises and arguments raise questions that are as relevant to modern society as they were to the ancient world.

Book Baron de Vastey and the Origins of Black Atlantic Humanism

Download or read book Baron de Vastey and the Origins of Black Atlantic Humanism written by Marlene L. Daut and published by Palgrave Macmillan. This book was released on 2018-11-14 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Focusing on the influential life and works of the Haitian political writer and statesman, Baron de Vastey (1781-1820), in this book Marlene L. Daut examines the legacy of Vastey’s extensive writings as a form of what she calls black Atlantic humanism, a discourse devoted to attacking the enlightenment foundations of colonialism. Daut argues that Vastey, the most important secretary of Haiti’s King Henry Christophe, was a pioneer in a tradition of deconstructing colonial racism and colonial slavery that is much more closely associated with twentieth-century writers like W.E.B. Du Bois, Frantz Fanon, and Aimé Césaire. By expertly forging exciting new historical and theoretical connections among Vastey and these later twentieth-century writers, as well as eighteenth- and nineteenth-century black Atlantic authors, such as Phillis Wheatley, Olaudah Equiano, William Wells Brown, and Harriet Jacobs, Daut proves that any understanding of the genesis of Afro-diasporic thought must include Haiti’s Baron de Vastey.
