It is therefore essential in a cultivator that it stirs the soil thoroughly to the right depth and plows out the weeds. It must also have staying qualities. It must be easy to handle and adjust so that cultivator, man and team can keep going steadily throughout the day, and day after day, without loss of time. Where a large number of acres are planted with corn, the rapidity with which one field can be finished, and the cultivating in another one started, often means a partial failure or a good crop yield.
