Book Interkulturelles Kooperationsmanagement

Download or read book Interkulturelles Kooperationsmanagement written by Wolfgang Deutz and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2010 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Theory and Research on Small Groups

Download or read book Theory and Research on Small Groups written by R. Scott Tindale and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-04-11 with total page 425 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Research on small groups played an important role in the early formulation of social psychology. By the 1970s, however, the field had lost the interest of most social psychologists. Theory and Research on Small Groups reintegrates that work back into the mainstream of social psychology. The more recent `issues-oriented' approach has not only resulted in many interesting findings-it has also applied basic social psychological theory in new ways and, moreover, led to new theoretical developments that deserve more attention. This volume, which features the work of esteemed researchers from around the world, is a bountiful resource worthy of notice by all social psychologists.

Book Developing Global Business Leaders

Download or read book Developing Global Business Leaders written by Torsten Kühlmann and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2000-10-30 with total page 335 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The widening gap between the requirements of multinational organizations and the strategic and managerial abilities of their leaders, many of whose core experiences predated the globalization of business, has created the need for this book. Editors Mark E. Mendenhall, Torsten M. Kühlmann, and Günter K. Stahl have organized the results of their research—and that of their colleagues in the fields of leadership development, international management, and organizational psychology—for the benefit of scholars and practitioners alike. After surveying current practices to bring the reader up to speed on global leadership development as pursued by the United States, Germany, Japan, and with regard to women in leadership positions, the book's focus shifts to a discussion of effective organizational processes. In the third and final section, contributors analyze the research that has been done on extending human resource management functional practices—such as selection instrumentation, the use of assessment centers, multinational work groups, cross-cultural training programs, and repatriation policies—to global leadership development. The editors define and analyze global leadership and, in their review of the research, clarify exactly what we know and don't know about developing global leadership skills and what it might be profitable to learn. Practitioners will benefit from the contributors well-grounded insights into such issues as the key distinctions between global and domestic corporations, which dimensions of competency transcend internal corporate leadership dimensions, and how global leadership competencies should be developed.

Book The Organization and Planning of Adult Education

Download or read book The Organization and Planning of Adult Education written by Theodore J. Kowalski and published by SUNY Press. This book was released on 1988-01-01 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The heightened interest in and the rapid expansion of adult education has become a trend in a variety of environments. In order to serve these developing areas, educators, personnel directors, as well as staff development specialists require improved methods for planning learning activities within their own unique organizational contexts. In The Organization and Planning of Adult Education Kowalski examines the issues created by providing a social service in diverse organizational settings and presents a format for initiating and developing adult education programs. In order to comprehend the complexity of the context of programming within an organization, two novel components are included: first, a typology of sponsoring organizations is presented. This allows the reader to study program development in greater detail through a categorization of the sponsoring institutions. Second, organizational theory is applied to the process of programming in adult education. To be successful, the adult educator must be able to analyze both the existing organizational climate as well as to devise programs compatible with this environment. Kowalski has written a valuable resource and guide for those faced with the responsibilities of planning adult education programs in their own particular setting.
