Dans une conception sur mesure, le défi du concepteur est de trouver la structure de surface d'échange qui apporte le meilleur compris entre masse, pertes de charge et puissance thermique échangée. Dans le cas des échangeurs diphasiques, les phénomènes physiques en jeu sont issus de couplages forts et complexes entre les propriétés du fluide, de surface des parois et les conditions opératoires. Des outils numériques adaptés sont donc nécessaires pour définir les structures d'échanges appropriées. La première partie de cette thèse est ainsi dédiée à la simulation numérique du fonctionnement d'un échangeur de chaleur diphasique avec une approche par milieux poreux équivalents. Un modèle d'écoulement diphasique à 4 équations a été développé. Un code de calcul a été réalisé sous Fortran pour résoudre ce modèle dans des domaines cartésiens, réguliers et multidimensionnels. La méthode de résolution retenue est un schéma numérique de type Godunov où les variables de bords sont calculées par un solveur de type HLLC. La deuxième partie de cette thèse est dédiée à la mise en œuvre de moyens expérimentaux permettant de caractériser des paramètres physiques essentiels au code de simulation numérique développé. Un dispositif expérimental a donc été conçu et réalisé pour étudier l'ébullition ou la condensation dans des prototypes d'échangeur compacts métalliques conçus et produits par un procédé de fabrication additive. Les premières campagnes de mesures réalisées ont permis de rassembler des résultats validant de façon qualitative les protocoles expérimentaux.
