Book Intelligent Components and Instruments for Control Applications 1997 SICICA 97

Download or read book Intelligent Components and Instruments for Control Applications 1997 SICICA 97 written by L. Foulloy and published by Pergamon. This book was released on 1997 with total page 662 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: SICICA'97 was the third symposium in the series (1992, Malaga - Spain; 1994, Budapest - Hungary). It was sponsored by the Technical Committee on Components and Instruments and was organized by the Laboratoire d'Automatique et de MicroInformatique Industrielle, Universiteacute; de Savoie, on behalf of AFCET, the National Member Organization. The symposium was held in the Impeacute;rial Palace Congress Center, Annecy. 178 papers were submitted as draft papers and reviewed by the International Program Committee members who selected 117 papers coming from 25 countries. The topics covered include: the evolution of electronic components, especially mircocontrollers and digital signal processors which can be used for the implementation of instruments where intelligence is located in the processing; problems and solutions using fieldbuses for the control of automated processes; and the principal phases in the industrialisation of microsystems which associate micromechanics and microelectronics. The Symposium showed the vitality of the research in the field of intelligent instruments and components.

Book Fuzzy Reasoning in Information Decision and Control Systems

Download or read book Fuzzy Reasoning in Information Decision and Control Systems written by S.G. Tzafestas and published by Springer. This book was released on 2007-08-28 with total page 548 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Great progresses have been made in the application of fuzzy set theory and fuzzy logic. Most remarkable area of application is 'fuzzy control', where fuzzy logic was first applied to plant control systems and its use is expanding to consumer products. Most of fuzzy control systems uses fuzzy inference with max-min or max-product composition, similar to the algorithm that first used by Mamdani in 1970s. Some algorithms are developed to refine fuzzy controls systems but the main part of algorithm stays the same. Triggered by the success of fuzzy control systems, other ways of applying fuzzy set theory are also investigated. They are usually referred to as 'fuzzy expert sys tems', and their purpose are to combine the idea of fuzzy theory with AI based approach toward knowledge processing. These approaches can be more generally viewed as 'fuzzy information processing', that is to bring fuzzy idea into informa tion processing systems.

Book Dynamics and Control of Chemical Reactors Distillation Columns and Batch Processes DYCORD 92

Book Diagnosis and Fault Tolerant Control

Download or read book Diagnosis and Fault Tolerant Control written by Mogens Blanke and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 583 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents model-based analysis and design methods for fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control. Architectural and structural models are used to analyse the propagation of the fault through the process, test fault detectability and reveal redundancies that can be used to ensure fault tolerance. Case studies demonstrate the methods presented. The second edition includes new material on reconfigurable control, diagnosis of nonlinear systems, and remote diagnosis, plus new examples and updated bibliography.

Book Control Performance Assessment Theoretical Analyses and Industrial Practice

Download or read book Control Performance Assessment Theoretical Analyses and Industrial Practice written by Paweł D. Domański and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2019-09-01 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a comprehensive review of currently available Control Performance Assessment methods. It covers a broad range of classical and modern methods, with a main focus on assessment practice, and is intended to help practitioners learn and properly perform control assessment in the industrial reality. Further, it offers an educational guide for control engineers, who are currently in high demand in the industry. The book consists of three main parts. Firstly, a comprehensive review of available approaches is presented and discussed. The classical canon methods are extended with a discussion of nonlinear and complex alternative measures using non-Gaussian statistics, persistence and fractional calculations. Secondly, the methods’ applicability aspects are visualized with the aid of computer simulations, covering the most popular control philosophies used in the process industry. Lastly, a critical review of the methods discussed, on the basis of real-world industrial examples, rounds out the coverage.

Book Mechatronics and the Design of Intelligent Machines and Systems

Download or read book Mechatronics and the Design of Intelligent Machines and Systems written by David Allan Bradley and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mechatronics as a discipline has an ever growing impact on engineering and engineering education as a defining approach to the design, development, and operation of an increasingly wide range of engineering systems. The increasing scope and complexity of mechatronic systems means that their design and development now involve not only the technical aspects of its core disciplines, but also aspects of organization, training, and management. Mechatronics and the Design of Intelligent Machines and Systems reflects the significant areas of development in mechatronics and focuses on the higher-level approaches needed to support the design and implementation of mechatronic systems. Throughout the book, the authors emphasize the importance of systems integration. Each chapter deals with a particular aspect of the design and development process, from the specification of the system to software design and from the human-machine interface to the requirements for safe operation and effective manufacture. Notable among this text's many features is the use of a running case study-the autonomous and robotic excavator LUCIE-to illustrate points made in various chapters. This, combined with the authors' clear prose, systematic organization, and generous use of examples and illustrations provides students with a firm understanding of mechatronics as a discipline, some of the problems encountered in its various areas, and the developing techniques used to solve those problems.
