Subjects were shown a video film representing one of those basic situations of danger which, according to Freudian thinking, especially provoke defensive reactions. which was administered before the experimental session, in which two video films were shown. A self-report of the subjects' reactions to the video film was measured with a questionnaire developed to tap context-bound responses of a defensive character. Thus, this work represents one of few experiments within the field where non-verbal behaviour under a neutral and a stress condition were compared to a personality measure of this type.
