Download or read book Henstock Kurzweil Integration on Euclidean Spaces written by Tuo Yeong Lee and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2011 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Henstock?Kurzweil integral, which is also known as the generalized Riemann integral, arose from a slight modification of the classical Riemann integral more than 50 years ago. This relatively new integral is known to be equivalent to the classical Perron integral; in particular, it includes the powerful Lebesgue integral. This book presents an introduction of the multiple Henstock?Kurzweil integral. Along with the classical results, this book contains some recent developments connected with measures, multiple integration by parts, and multiple Fourier series. The book can be understood with a prerequisite of advanced calculus.

Download or read book A Modern Theory of Random Variation written by Patrick Muldowney and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-04-26 with total page 493 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A ground-breaking and practical treatment of probability and stochastic processes A Modern Theory of Random Variation is a new and radical re-formulation of the mathematical underpinnings of subjects as diverse as investment, communication engineering, and quantum mechanics. Setting aside the classical theory of probability measure spaces, the book utilizes a mathematically rigorous version of the theory of random variation that bases itself exclusively on finitely additive probability distribution functions. In place of twentieth century Lebesgue integration and measure theory, the author uses the simpler concept of Riemann sums, and the non-absolute Riemann-type integration of Henstock. Readers are supplied with an accessible approach to standard elements of probability theory such as the central limmit theorem and Brownian motion as well as remarkable, new results on Feynman diagrams and stochastic integrals. Throughout the book, detailed numerical demonstrations accompany the discussions of abstract mathematical theory, from the simplest elements of the subject to the most complex. In addition, an array of numerical examples and vivid illustrations showcase how the presented methods and applications can be undertaken at various levels of complexity. A Modern Theory of Random Variation is a suitable book for courses on mathematical analysis, probability theory, and mathematical finance at the upper-undergraduate and graduate levels. The book is also an indispensible resource for researchers and practitioners who are seeking new concepts, techniques and methodologies in data analysis, numerical calculation, and financial asset valuation. Patrick Muldowney, PhD, served as lecturer at the Magee Business School of the UNiversity of Ulster for over twenty years. Dr. Muldowney has published extensively in his areas of research, including integration theory, financial mathematics, and random variation.
Download or read book Nonabsolute Integration On Measure Spaces written by Wee Leng Ng and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2017-10-20 with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers to the reader a self-contained treatment and systematic exposition of the real-valued theory of a nonabsolute integral on measure spaces. It is an introductory textbook to Henstock-Kurzweil type integrals defined on abstract spaces. It contains both classical and original results that are accessible to a large class of readers. It is widely acknowledged that the biggest difficulty in defining a Henstock-Kurzweil integral beyond Euclidean spaces is the definition of a set of measurable sets which will play the role of 'intervals' in the abstract setting. In this book the author shows a creative and innovative way of defining 'intervals' in measure spaces, and prove many interesting and important results including the well-known Radon-Nikodým theorem.

Download or read book Generalized Ordinary Differential Equations written by Jaroslav Kurzweil and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2012 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Explores the basics of social policy and program analysis, such as designing new programs or evaluating and improving existing ones. Social Policy and Social Programs is distinctive in providing specific criteria for judging the effectiveness of social policies and programs. These criteria can be applied to the analysis of widely different social services such as counseling and therapeutic services, supportive assistance, and "hard" benefits like food stamps, cash, and housing vouchers. By focusing especially on social problems, policies, and programs in major practice areas like child welfare, health, poverty, and mental illness, the author provides students with the tools they need to understand and evaluate the programs in which they are doing their field placements. Upon completing this book readers will be able to: Analyze the effectiveness of current social programs Create new programs based on the criteria provided Apply what they have learned to evaluate their field placement programs Note: MySearchLab does not come automatically packaged with this text. Download or read book Topics in Banach Space Integration written by Stefan Schwabik and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2005 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The relatively new concepts of the HenstockKurzweil and McShane integrals based on Riemann type sums are an interesting challenge in the study of integration of Banach space-valued functions. This timely book presents an overview of the concepts developed and results achieved during the past 15 years. The HenstockKurzweil and McShane integrals play the central role in the book. Various forms of the integration are introduced and compared from the viewpoint of their generality. Functional analysis is the main tool for presenting the theory of summation gauge integrals.
Download or read book Stochastic Calculus via Regularizations written by Francesco Russo and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-11-15 with total page 656 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book constitutes an introduction to stochastic calculus, stochastic differential equations and related topics such as Malliavin calculus. On the other hand it focuses on the techniques of stochastic integration and calculus via regularization initiated by the authors. The definitions relies on a smoothing procedure of the integrator process, they generalize the usual Itô and Stratonovich integrals for Brownian motion but the integrator could also not be a semimartingale and the integrand is allowed to be anticipating. The resulting calculus requires a simple formalism: nevertheless it entails pathwise techniques even though it takes into account randomness. It allows connecting different types of pathwise and non pathwise integrals such as Young, fractional, Skorohod integrals, enlargement of filtration and rough paths. The covariation, but also high order variations, play a fundamental role in the calculus via regularization, which can also be applied for irregular integrators. A large class of Gaussian processes, various generalizations of semimartingales such that Dirichlet and weak Dirichlet processes are revisited. Stochastic calculus via regularization has been successfully used in applications, for instance in robust finance and on modeling vortex filaments in turbulence. The book is addressed to PhD students and researchers in stochastic analysis and applications to various fields.
Download or read book Hypernumbers and Extrafunctions written by Mark Burgin and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-05-16 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Hypernumbers and Extrafunctions” presents a rigorous mathematical approach to operate with infinite values. First, concepts of real and complex numbers are expanded to include a new universe of numbers called hypernumbers which includes infinite quantities. This brief extends classical calculus based on real functions by introducing extrafunctions, which generalize not only the concept of a conventional function but also the concept of a distribution. Extrafucntions have been also efficiently used for a rigorous mathematical definition of the Feynman path integral, as well as for solving some problems in probability theory, which is also important for contemporary physics. This book introduces a new theory that includes the theory of distributions as a subtheory, providing more powerful tools for mathematics and its applications. Specifically, it makes it possible to solve PDE for which it is proved that they do not have solutions in distributions. Also illustrated in this text is how this new theory allows the differentiation and integration of any real function. This text can be used for enhancing traditional courses of calculus for undergraduates, as well as for teaching a separate course for graduate students.
