This is the TAMIS (Telemetric Automated Microbial Identification System) concept. The differentiation of bacterial extracts by precipitin analyses has been well established by the researches of numerous investigators. Advances in instrumentation have made the quantitation of this type of antigen-antibody reaction both exacting and efficient. This report emphasizes principles of quantitation, methods, and instruments currently in use for electronic data reduction and evaluation of the comparability of precipitin reactions. (Author).
