Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Student's Guide to Fundamentals of Chemistry, Fourth Edition provides an introduction to the basic chemical principles. This book deals with various approaches to chemical principles and problem solving in chemistry. Organized into 25 chapters, this edition begins with an overview of how to define and recognize the more common names and symbols in chemistry. This text then discusses the historical development of the concept of atom as well as the historical determination of atomic weights for the elements. Other chapters consider how to calculate the molecular weight of a compound from its formula. This book discusses as well the characteristics of a photon in terms of its particle-like properties and defines the wavelength, frequency, and speed of light. The final chapter deals with the fundamental components of air and the classification of materials formed in natural waters. This book is a valuable resource for chemistry students, lecturers, and instructors.

Download or read book Organic Chemistry Student Study Guide and Solutions Manual written by David R. Klein and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2017-01-04 with total page 1103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the Student Study Guide and Solutions Manual to accompany Organic Chemistry, 3e. Organic Chemistry, 3rd Edition is not merely a compilation of principles, but rather, it is a disciplined method of thought and analysis. Success in organic chemistry requires mastery in two core aspects: fundamental concepts and the skills needed to apply those concepts and solve problems. Readers must learn to become proficient at approaching new situations methodically, based on a repertoire of skills. These skills are vital for successful problem solving in organic chemistry. Existing textbooks provide extensive coverage of, the principles, but there is far less emphasis on the skills needed to actually solve problems.
Download or read book Organic Chemistry written by David R. Klein and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2017-08-14 with total page 1312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Organic Chemistry, 3rd Edition, Dr. David Klein builds on the phenomenal success of the first two editions, which presented his unique skills-based approach to learning organic chemistry. Dr. Klein’s skills-based approach includes all of the concepts typically covered in an organic chemistry textbook, and places special emphasis on skills development to support these concepts. This emphasis on skills development in unique SkillBuilder examples provides extensive opportunities for two-semester Organic Chemistry students to develop proficiency in the key skills necessary to succeed in organic chemistry.

Book excerpt: The Chemistry Maths Book is a comprehensive textbook of mathematics for undergraduate students of chemistry. Such students often find themselves unprepared and ill-equipped to deal with the mathematical content of their chemistry courses. Textbooks designed to overcome this problem have so far been too basic for complete undergraduate courses and have been unpopular with students. However, this modern textbook provides a complete and up-to-date course companion suitable for all levels of undergraduate chemistry courses. All the most useful and important topics are covered with numerous examples of applications in chemistry and some in physics. The subject is developed in a logical and consistent way with few assumptions of prior knowledge of mathematics. This text is sure to become a widely adopted text and will be highly recommended for all chemistry courses.
